The Crucible: The Book or The Movie? When asked the question in which format, the book or the movie, do you as the student get more out of? I personally was able to appreciate the concepts of this story better in the movie than in the book. Its not just the fact that I am a bit more of a visual learner but the simple fact the movie was fantastic because of its wonderful portrayal of the characters and the cohesiveness between the movie and the book. The actors in this movie make an all star cast of Hollywood’s most heralded and respected people.
The central idea of this movie is the lessons learned by two geniuses. Through William’s help Jamal is able to discover the amazing writing talent he has, and through Jamal’s help William is able to discover the world that he only saw through his window for the past forty years. This move was able to bring this idea across clearly through its amazing characters. The characters of Jamal and William worked well together, and the metamorphosis that underwent both of them was clear. Jamal’s writing became amazingly good and William was able to see himself as an actual person rather then just an author.

A documentary based on a true story with great detail that it is definitely worthy of being nominated for an award. Pacino is always naturally gifted and extremely talented as an actor. His friend Johnny Depp, a teen idol at the end of the 1980s due primarily to his work on the hit TV series 21 Jump Street, was cast in the title role of Edward, who was the creation of an eccentric and old-fashioned inventor (played by Vincent Price in one of his last screen appearances). Edward looked human, but was left with scissors in the place of hands due to the untimely death of his creator. Set in suburbia (and shot in Lutz, Florida), the film is largely seen as Burton's autobiography of his childhood in Burbank. Price at one point is said to have remarked, "Tim is Edward." Depp wrote a similar comment in the foreword to Mark Salisbury's book, Burton on Burton, regarding his first meeting with Burton over the casting of the film.
The movie Old Glory by Vane Scott was a very education experience for me; I learned many interesting facts from the movie. For example I didn’t know we had 27 flags for the United States before we came to the official one and the variety of flags with their designs was incredible from the imagery and symbolism they had provided. With all the stories Vane Scott had provided and the vivid description it almost makes you feel you were actually their fight for our freedom. My reflection on the movie it was greatly done and well organized with Vane Scott providing his humorous jokes about the flag it really took some of the boring times to the best. Another thing I learned from the movie was how many people and troops contributed to what we have today and how the flags were coming to be.

A chance reading of the novel ‘The Doomsday Conspiracy’ by Sidney Sheldon changed the course of Dan Brown’s life completely. Inspired by the simplicity of the prose and the efficiency with which the storyline was dealt with, Brown resorted to switching to a writing career. To pursue writing professionally, Brown started working on ‘Digital Fortress’, his first thrilled-based novel. He centered it at Seville, a place where he had spent a year in 1985. He quit teaching in 1996.
