DeCarto Draper L26486756 Theo 104 November 21, 2014 Biblical Worldview: Introduction I am a full-time pastor who has the responsibility of leading people into a relationship with God. I also have a responsibility to nurture those who have already accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. In my profession it’s very challenging because in our society we have made so many technological advances as well as the heavy influence of science and other religions. Most people don’t understand the difference between pasturing and preaching therefore the pastor has a charge, challenge, and commitment to live out our belief that man has been created in the image and our lifestyle and behavior must exhibit that in our workplace. There is a prosperity gospel being preached that is full of erroneous doctrine that’s making the parishioners question if we are really created in the image of God then why do we have so much trouble, why are we struggling financially. The reality is that there is an influx of false prophets that have watered down the gospel and are twisting the facts for their own selfish gain. God not only made us to not only look like Him but be like Him. In the Apostle Paul’s 1 letter to his son in the ministry Timothy he says, “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine” (2 Timothy 2:2-3 King James Version). God is going to hold us that lead his people accountable. We must have a heart for His people. When we have a heart for his people we are concerned that truths of the scriptures are opened to them. “In relation to the bible, the doctrine of revelation relates to the unveiling of truth in the material of the scriptures; illumination refers to the ministry of the Spirit by which the meaning of Scripture is made clear to the believer” (Gutierrez, 2012). Therefore the holy spirit uses those of us that proclaim His word to be ambassadors for Him. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”
