“The whole point of knowledge is to produce both meaning and purpose in our personal lives.” To what extent do you agree with this statement?" "Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do - Potter Stewart."¹ Ethics is an area if knowledge, it is considered to be the same as "moral philosophy", it is the study of morals. Morals are reflected in our behaviour and beliefs, it is what we think is right and wrong, and society has somehow and to a certain extent, developed a common known "values" or moral principles". Humans struggle day by day, we face moral dilemmas and in the decisions we make, we often if not always are ruled by our emotions. Emotion is one of the most important ways of knowledge, Plato once said; "Human behavior flows from three main sources: desire, emotion, and knowledge"². Emotions are the different feelings and moods we experience, for example joy or depression. “Man is by nature a social animal; an individual who is unsocial naturally and not accidentally is either beneath our notice or more than human. Society is something that precedes the individual. Anyone who either cannot lead the common life or is so self-sufficient as not to need to, and therefore does not partake of society, is either a beast or a god. ― Aristotle" ³. This means that it is in our human nature, to endeavor to connect in a higher level than just physical with other beings; however we would never be able to achieve this without emotions. Emotions are what causes us to want to live in a society, to not be alone and experience things such as pleasure, affection, friendship and even grief, sorrow, because we would not be able to feel one without the other. ¹http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/p/potterstew390058.html ²http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/p/plato384673.html
