“The Way to a Man’s Heart is through his Stomach” The meaning of this proverb suggests that cooking for a man is a good way to win his affections. It’s a common knowledge that many women have won men’s love by cooking delicious meals for them; they fed their stomachs and found love in their hearts. The effectiveness of this method of attraction arises no doubts, because when a man is hungry, he is angry, dull and silent, he wants to eat immediately, and it’s evident, that he would prefer a woman who can feed him to the one who has nothing to do with cooking. When a woman understands that a man pays too little attention to her, or even isn’t interested in her any longer, she can invite him and cook him a good meal. One of the reasons of this lies in the very nature of men. Every man considers himself a head of the household, and a woman is a keeper of family hearth, so she must do a lot of things to please her husband, it should always be clean in the house, and there should always be tasty warm food on the table, waiting for a husband to eat it. There is a number of similar proverbs, for example: “The shortest road to men’s hearts is down their throats” and “The way to many of honest heart lies through the belly”. It proves that it’s really important for a woman to have some cooking skills and not to be lazy and cook tasty meals for her
