"Literary Analysis-"I Am Joaquin" Preserving one’s cultural identity is a struggle for certain people. This can typically mean that the person would be constantly be under great scorn by others in a different society due to negative views and therefore force lose knowledge of who they are. The theme of "I Am Joaquin" by Rodolfo Gonzalez is that you should be proud of your culture because it is part of your identity and should be your duty to maintain it for yourself and others. This can be justified by how it affects the future generations, the process of revolutions, and the general resolution for other obstacles that would still remain. People know about their culture through families or other significant people.
The interview would also put pressure on us by looking at that us all the time instead of writing something down to make it look professional. I would also sometimes speak too fast which showed I was nervous which wasn’t good for the role play we was doing. How we could have improved the interview There are many ways we could have improved the interview for example we could have practice the role play and remembered the lines better. The interviewer could have pretended to write something which would have put less pressure on me which would have made me less nervous. At the end instead of only asking 2 questions I could have asked one more which would look really professional.
One way to overcome this feeling of helplessness when they feel wronged is to get “even”. They may not have control over what the other person said or did to them but they have a feeling of control in the midst of their vengeful act, Another reason a person may do a violent vengeful act is to get attention when he feels disregarded or treated insignificantly. Many of these acts occur between people who know each other very well including intimate partners. The biggest theme throughout the story was revenge.
Historical context pertains to logos, which appeal to the reader’s common sense and beliefs. This tool is important because it brings the reader to feel confident that English has been, and will continue to be, spread across the world. The author states specific examples in history that have promoted language growth and links them to the same factors pertaining to English. Crystal makes his point that "A language has traditionally become an international language for one chief reason: the power of its people- especially their political and military power." (355).
There are many different types of communication styles each person has a unique personality and communication style which plays a basic role in their personality perspectives. In the article “but what do you mean?” by Deborah Tannen the author argues that there is no right or wrong way to talk. Whereas in the article “Doublespeak” by William Lutz he argues that communication is carefully designed and constructed to mislead and corrupt our thoughts. However I agree with Tanner because men and women talk differently. One of the most common reasons is that your communication style is different than the other person’s communication style.
It is important not to speak out of angry emotions, and again sometimes it is best to tell an employee that one may need to think on the matter first before responding. While it may not seem like a "big deal" it is important to make sure that the words that are used when speaking to employees are simple and clear. Some employees may not understand the use of large words, and therefore the message that the manager / supervisor is trying to convey may be lost. Good grammar is also a must for every type communication. Use of slang terms is not a wise idea, as what is acceptable in generation / culture could be offensive to the next.. We must make sure we are saying exactly what we mean to and clearly enough that so that others are going to hear exactly what the manager / supervisor is trying to say.
In most literature nowadays authors like to argue or set controversy so it receives the readers attention. When writing you don’t have to have the reader always agree with you 100%, but you want them to think about your point of view which may cause controversy between you and the reader. When having an argument within your writing make sure to have support behind it. Some writers make their arguments even harder to follow when agreeing with something and
Throughout history, people can not exist without storytelling because of its great power and the materials that shapes every human endeavour. Storytelling satisfied need to explain surrounding physical world, the novel Haroun and the Sea of Stories is an intriguing tale that could easily be classified as a children's story, but beneath its surface it shows one man's struggle to overcome censorship and religious persecution. In today's society, people have to defend literature against tyranny so humans have the right to express freedom of speech. Literature is a communication is a soul engine of democracy, literary expression's an unconscious product of the collective experience of the entire human species, and literature has the ability to reveal the truth people have fail to see. First of all, the reason why one must defend literature against tyranny communication is because a soul engine of democracy.
First though, you have to make sure that both parties are ready to listen. Being flat-brained isn’t going to make for a good listener, in this case, you would have to make a rain check for the conversation. Otherwise it will not be a very healthy chat. The talker with the biggest bother will talk, the listener will put himself in the talker’s shoes, and feel that persons bother as well. The talker owns the problem, but the listener will share the problem.
When the client’s and advocate’s values are consonant, the advocate can easily pursue the aims of the client. But what happens when their values clash? In fact, value conflicts between clients and advocates are quite common. Sometimes the conflicts relate to methods of advocacy; for instance, a client wants the advocate to fight in a manner that inflames conflict, while the advocate values the peaceful resolution of conflict. Other times, the values conflict relates to differences over the goal of advocacy: a client asks an advocate to argue in favor of capital punishment, whereas the professional values the sanctity of life.
