[animal-testing.procon.org] Researchers in Aston University have made it known that it is not worth taking the lives of these animals for testing, because the things we’re trying to make happen with human bodies is very different from the animal body. The anatomic, metabolic, and cellular differences between animals and people make animals poor models for human beings. There is a big percentage from the 1950’s up till now that animal testing is flawed by not being correct when it is given to the people it is for. So why not just stop the animal experiments that are not just killing, but also torturing the animals.
Also the way that the animals react to the stress of the experiments can severely affect the end results, rendering the experiments meaningless. Although it is true that we need animals to test our medical drugs on because if we didn’t, with modern day technology we wouldn’t be able to find cures for major diseases. But that doesn’t mean we should treat them so
Those who against animal experiments insist that those painful experimentation on animals should be halted. The pain is not moral whether it is experienced by a child, an adult, or an animal. If it is wrong to impose pain on a human being, it is also wrong on an animal. But many people argue that halting animal experiments would end the progress of science and actually human are taking gain from those experiments. Animal experiments should be acceptable if the pain is minimized in all experiments.
Unfortunately, there is no easy answer. Animal testing is the best possible option. Animal testing is necessary to safely keep up with the growing market of products and pharmaceutical drugs. The animals used for testing often turns into a lethal result. Animal testing is not required by the law, but it is done by the companies to protect itself from consumer lawsuits.
There was concern for prolonging the suffering and an interest in following rules as to limit any harm coming to a human test subject. The hidden agenda of the movie is to portray the medical community as indifferent and to show that medical science has become detached from the needs of those it serves. Movies are rarely true so I investigated the story myself and found many elements of the movies portrayal to be untrue or not mentioned. The movie is very one-sided and dangerously irresponsible. The medical community was not represented correctly charging that medical science only considers the “risk to reward ratio”.
People often do not realize that the act of neglecting, ignoring can also be a part of animal abuse. They also do not realize that animal cruelty is an act of killing ourselves that can be solved by law enforcement, environmental protection, prohibition of animal testing. People are under the obsession that animal testing is one of the safest ways to experiment different chemicals and rationalize themselves from the fact that it’s one of the tragic ways to kill a living creature.
Animal testing is ineffective, extremely expensive, and completely inhumane. Firstly, animal testing is proven to be ineffective, however it continues to be practiced regularly. Animal testing isn’t just impractical, it is also dangerous. Ninety percent of medications approved for humans after being tested on animals are later proved to be ineffective, or even harmful to humans (Overton 1). A very large percentage of tests conducted on animals have been proven to be futile.
The first and foremost ethical concern about this experiment was that Watson used the boy as an experimental subject without taking into consideration the possible ill effects. (Rock & Page, 2009).This statement basically implies that there is no difference between animals and humans since methods used to experiment on animals were used on the infant. "High esteem is accorded this experiment despite its intentionally traumatizing an infant, a far greater ethical breach than the distress caused adults in the much maligned obedience studies
‘Gattaca’ doesn’t condemn the genetic experimentation itself, but it condemning the way it is used, and why it is used. Even though the genetic engineering can save the lives of the people, it is used blindly and the reason for using it is wrong. It doesn’t better people personality, it rather makes more selfish and narrow minded. According to the society of ‘Gattaca’ science means everything, it cannot be flawed and will always be accurate, but as shown in the film Vincent prevails science and reaches his dream. People rely on DNA and science too much, which could potently corrupt our society.
One of the arguments is that animal testing is usually not reliable when it comes to being replicated in human clinical tests (Gross & Tolba, 2015). When it comes to testing on animals on research for learning, there are three main argument positions; the first is that researchers should not carry out animal based experiments under any circumstances, the second is that researchers should only be allowed to carry out animal testing under some circumstances, and the third is that researchers should be allowed to carry out any animal testing that they deem to be useful (Gross & Tolba, 2015). The first argument and the third argument are extremist points of view, one being by animal rights activists and one being by people who lack an ethical position (Gross & Tolba, 2015). Most people fall somewhere in the second argument and, as long as the APA guidelines are followed, it is ethical to use animals for research on
