In the movie Victor is much more blunt with letting Thomas share his stories, he specifically tells Thomas he does not want him to share any of his stories. This doesn’t stop Thomas, so after would tell a story Victor would reply “you’re full of sh*t.” This kind of negative attitude allowed the author to create a character that would play the role of a emotional healer, to make Victor more open and willing to hear stories of his father. That was the role Suzy Song played, she told him his father had quit drinking and how much he missed home. This helped Victor overcome the feeling of emotional abandonment he felt because of his

Just as we have a fresh start after confession or repenting to God. There was a theme of hatred in certain parts of the movie, for example Hannah the Spitfire Grill’s owner, her nephew, had hatred feelings toward Percy. He thought wrong of Percy; he judged the book by its cover. We as humans are used to that point of view, judging a book by its cover, the ending part of the movie where he confesses that he was wrong really taught a good lesson to all of us. Compassion was defiantly another theme in this film, compassion was a theme in a sense that Hannah and the town were compassionate for one another, they all relied on each other.
Wikus was equally horrible to Christopher in the beginning of the movie, and he thought of Christopher as his enemy just because he wasn’t human. Christopher was still willing to help his enemy even after Wikus had been so mean to him. For example, when Wikus’ left arm metamorphosed into that of a prawn’s, everyone was after him, and Wikus had nowhere to go. Fortunately for him, Christopher was able to see that Wikus was in trouble, so he allowed him to hide in his house. Christopher’s acts of kindness allowed Wikus to change for
In the book Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain Huck has to deal with his conscience by either going to hell for helping a slave escape or he helps Jim because he knows it’s the right thing. The only downside to turning Jim in was that everyone would look down upon Huck too. Also everyone would probably later find out that Huck faked his death At first Huck was going to rat Jim out to the people out on the boat but his conscience got to him. and told him that it wasn’t the right thing. The next time Huck was going to create a letter explaining what happened but he ended ripping it up.
He made sure to put on a façade which would lead the King’s men to believe he was still a respectful and loyal man. He even went as far as killing another man to show his respect for the king and his (fake) anger about the king’s murder. Macbeth made quite a transition between the first two scenes of the play. Power was the catalyst for the change from a loyal to greedy man. People will do many things to claim power.
As far as the boatswain is concerned, all men are equal in a storm and all equally at risk, showing the discord at the very start. In Act 1, scene 2, Prospero is telling the story of how they ended up to the island to his daughter Miranda. There is harmony between the pair as it is clear that they both love each other dearly. “I have done nothing but in care of thee…”. The relationship between father and daughter is filled with love, but there is a sense of discord in the way Prospero exudes control over Miranda and how Miranda thinks her father caused the tempest.
“Will all great Neptune’s ocean wash this blood…Clean from my hand?” ( 2.2.57-58) The figurative blood on his hands didn’t seem to be coming off even though his hands were literally washed clean. It appears that way to Macbeth because his guilty conscience is trying to tell him that what he did was wrong. He ignors the signs and acquires three murderers to kill Banquo for him because the witches prophesized that Banquo would father future kings, which then adds to his score sheet of murders and
It seems as though Prospero’s only intention in this was to bring his brother to him, so that he could confront him. However it later becomes clear that he has other designs in mind as well. Miranda, Prospero’s naïve and gentle fifteen-year-old daughter, is perhaps the character most manipulated by Prospero. When this play was written it was common for a woman to be controlled by her father, insofar as daughters (as well as sons, though to somewhat of a lesser degree) were often used as bargaining chips. Shakespeare shows Prospero’s use of Miranda to be more blatant however.
Here, Kingshaw’s mother is trying to treat both the boys with equal respect.“I shall not make a favourite of my own child”, which is conveyed to the reader constantly as throughout the novel as her respect for her own child declines as her feelings for Mr Hooper increases . Hooper’s hatred for his own Mother peaks when he thinks to himself “He wished she were dead instead of his father” The phrase, “wish she were dead” conveys the fact that Kingshaw’s hatred for her is an extreme one, this is because he feels that he has been forgotten in place of Mr Hooper and Hooper . Also, the fact that he wants her to be replaced by his father, a person who he has never thoroughly met emphasises that he hates his mother who is suppose to be loving and caring more than anyone he has known. A point that is later made when in his mind Kingshaw exclaims, “he hated her more than Hooper now”. This exaggerates his hate for his mother even more as Hooper is Kingshaw’s worst enemy, this suggests that Kingshaw’s worst relationship is with his mother, potentially implying she is the reason for his death.
