2. Without light and heat from the Sun, life cannot exist on Earth. 3. The Sun provides light energy and heat energy directly to living
I have 66 PV panels installed on the roof of my house that generates enough electricity to power everything in my home. Since our seasons do not change as drastically as in other parts of the United States, our energy consumption remains relatively consistent. During the summer months, when heat is a factor an increase in energy consumption may occur as air conditioners and fans are more frequently used. Another spike in electricity use is during the holiday season, when decorations and Christmas lights are displayed. Hawaii is an ideal location for renewable energy resources.
Sources of Energy According to Energy4me (2012), energy is embodied in everything and it comes from various sources and forms. There are two major classes of energy, kinetic and potential. Kinetic energy can be motion, light, heat, and sound, while potential energy can be nuclear, chemical, gravitational, mechanical, and electrical. The forms of energy that I rely on daily are light, heat, and electrical. The light energy that I use comes both from the sun and from electricity.
The panel that converts light energy into electrical energy is called a Photovoltaic panel. Light energy is not only used industrially and privately, but some of our vehicles run on part solar electric or entirely on solar electric. The light energy is collected through a panel on the vehicle, which is transferred to electrical energy that hits the motor; the motor then converts the electrical energy into mechanical energy, which turns the drive shaft that turns the wheels (kinetic energy). Not all energy transfer is perfect, there will always be a loss of energy in any system. The loss of energy will come from the electrons passing through any wires, released as heat energy.
bfly_recent.gifFrom the research, sunspots do not appear at random over the surface of the sun but are concentrated in two latitude bands on either side of the equator. The sunspots are greatly related to our climate. While the solar cycle has been nearly regular during the last 300 years, there was a period of 70 years during the 17th and 18th centuries when very few sunspots were seen (even though telescopes were widely used). This drop in sunspot number coincided with the timing of the little ice age in Europe, implying a Sun- to-climate connection. limb_flare_sm.jpg (5710 bytes)Solar flares are tremendous explosions on the surface of the Sun.
The six inches of soil substrate on the roof act as natural insulation. The steep slopes of the roof also act as a natural ventilation system, funneling cool air into the open-air plaza on sunny days. The skylights perform as both ambient light sources and a cooling system, automatically opening on warm days to vent hot air from the building. Solar Energy Panels Surrounding the Living Roof is a large glass canopy with a decorative band of 60,000 photovoltaic cells. These solar panels will generate approximately 213,000 kilowatt-hours of energy per year and provide up to 10% of the Academy's electricity need.
Hydroelectricity is the production of power through use of the gravitational force of falling water or flowing water. Lastly solar energy is using the suns energy to produce electricity. Solar energy is one the fastest growing energy sources and new technologies are developing at a rapid pace. The main thing about all this there sources of energy is that they are environmental friendly, and their maintenance is low cost if compared with other sources of energy. Why using wind power, solar energy, and hydroelectricity?
Nationally, different Governments are involved in the global supply of energy. They have a role to conserve as much energy as possible so supplies don’t run out as quickly. Monitoring, setting drilling and exploration licences and providing national policies on oil and fuel availability are some of the ways the government are important players in the supply of energy globally. In the UK for example, the government has provided different places with nuclear power stations as an alternative to using other energy supplies. Nationalised companies such as Gazprom also provides energy supplies worldwide.
Hemp: Good for America In the United States legalizing the industrialization of hemp would have many positive effects on today’s economy. The many uses of hemp make it an important plant for any first world country to grow as an industrial crop. The hemp plant is a renewable resource that is good for the environment as well as enriches the soil it grows in. There are more than 25,000 product hemp can be used to make. For thousands of years humans have used different parts of the hemp plant for food, textiles, paper, fabric, rope and fuel oils.
One would be Fire Resistant Material which is chemically treated fabric and is used by every single one of our Fire Departments. Another is the Wind Monitor, the wind monitor allows for making high resolution measurements for a wind profile and for meteorological studies and predictions. NASA also developed Solar Energy. Solar Energy is a clean and efficient power source coming from the sun. Forest management was influenced by NASA as well, they use satellites to scan, monitor, and map radiation reflected and emitted by
