Supervisors should always be aware and encourage employees to discuss any issue with them. This will make sure that and problems the employees have, they can be dealt with early instead of turning them into grievances against the company and its workers. This would be the second best practice. When problems are dealt with when they first come up and employee feels like what concerns them is also what concerns the company and is therefore dealt with then and there or the supervisor can find out ways to deal with them. When problems are not dealt with they can become conflicts against the company that can take long times to settle since they employee most likely found someone who would listen to them.
The employees may feel a certain way about the layoff of the co-workers and also it may effect how they work. Also another thing is the loss of valuable and knowledgeable employees may affect others too. The new hire people will have no one to ask if they do not understand or know how to perform a task asked of them. This can cause serious problems for productivity and for the patients at the clinic. The last disadvantage I think will be a problem to the Dodge Clinic is employees seeking employment elsewhere because they do not feel there job is secure.
It is important at this point to have a Workers Union that is serious on fighting for the rights of the workers. The union should be very close to the workers in order for them to get the challenges that the workers are facing. There should also be policies and laws protecting workers, such that a worker is given a logic reason on why they are getting fired rather than waking up in the morning and finding out that they no longer have a job. There should also be policies in regards to pension and health insurance covers makings sure that the workers have those paid for them by the firms. The health insurance is especially important for the workers working in dangerous conditions where they are likely to get an injury.
The learning curve will present challenges in that, employees will maintain the need to refer to the old system to proceed with business as usual. Possible struggles presented by the learning-curve are expected from several employees. Some will adjust more than others, but the main challenge is in the adaptation or orientation phase. Technologically, since the system is equipped with back up software, it should eventually eliminate the need for hard copy records and files. This will save time in the long run, which should encourage most employees despite their initial frustration with the management system change.
Burnout may not be completely prevented but there are different measures in preventing burnout that organizations managers or supervisor can implement. Becoming aware of employees facing burnout due to a demanding or stressful work environment or those following the same tedious daily routine can help decrease burnout. Once having an eye on employees facing burnout, restructuring job responsibilities, lowering caseloads, having volunteers, and part-time opportunities are just a few of the different measures in preventing human service employees from burnout. Adding clearer goals, expectations, and responsibilities are other measures that could help. Maintaining an effective workplace is the reasonability of managers or supervisors by setting the example, becoming a role model, open communication, and motivation will keep employees happy and satisfy.

A compressed work week, for example, can bring about significant fatigue in employees as the work day progresses and subsequently cause a reduction in worker-productivity. If this worker is in a team environment, then their lack of productivity can also negatively impact other employees as they attempt to pick up the slack- which can often lead to frustration, poorer product quality, and lowered job satisfaction for all involved (Youssef & Noon, 2012). On the other-hand, a compressed work week allows for flexibility in scheduling so that employees can achieve that work-life balance, which can create greater job satisfaction and subsequently increase productivity and lower absenteeism (Cappelli & Keller, 2013). Employees may also benefit from lower commuting costs (Schermerhorn, Hunt, Osborn, & Uhl-Bien, 2012).
If an employee is already overloaded with work the last thing needed is a heaver workload. The person is afraid of extra work pressure. When people feel that a certain change requires that they work more, it is too much pressure (Calberg, 2007). Many employees may feel that they have lost control over their job. Employees are the driving force of any operation and to lose employee moral means, poor productions, and a negative workforce.
