My Big Fat Greek Wedding Ashley Pinksy Azusa Pacific University GLBL 210 Global Studies C. Renaldo June 18, 2008 The film I watched on Sunday, June 17, 2008 is named My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Toula is 30 years old and is the main character. She lives with her parents, works in her family’s restaurant, and is single. Her father, Gus wants her to get married to a nice Greek boy, cook for her family, and have Greek babies because that is what Greek women are raised to do. However, Toula wanted more to life.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Book Report So there are four friends, Carmen, Lena, Bridget and Tibby, that live in Washington D.C. and they are all being separated for the summer. Carmen is going to visit her dad in South Carolina, Lena and her sister Effie are going to Greece to visit their grandparents, Bridget is going to a soccer camp in Baja California (which is in Mexico), and Tibby is staying home in Washington D.C. and working at Wallman's. So like two days before they leave Carmen finds these pair of blue jeans at a thrift store and all four girls are hanging out at Carmen’s house and Tibby sees them and tells Carmen that she wants them so Carmen gives them to Tibby and she tries them on and they look amazing on her and then Tibby tells Lena to try them on and they also look amazing on her, (note: all these girls have different body types and it would be physically impossible for all four girls to fit in one pair of jeans) then Lena tells Bridget to try then on and they also look fantastic on her and then because they think the jeans have some kind of transformation magic they tell Carmen to try them on and then everyone was so shocked to see that they look amazing on Carmen too!! So then they think these jeans have magical powers and they all go to the yoga room where there moms had met at first and they kind of do a sort of friend magic ordeal to the pants, They make rules for the Pants and they are: 1. You must never wash the Pants.
And volleyball. Of course! I have always been obsessive about this sport and I used to call myself “Ana Mozer” (a great Brazilian volleyball player) ADOLESCENCE Contact with the fashion world At the age of fourteen (1994), together with my two sisters and some friends, I took part in a course for models to improve my walking posture, because the ball of debutants (coming of age ball), a tradition in my hometown, would be next year. The course finished with a excursion to Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paul. During the trip, in one of the Sao Paulo malls, the modeling scouts liked me and invited me to come to their model agency.
She had just sold the tires from her car to buy food. There she sat in that lean- to tent with her children huddled around her, and seemed to know that my pictures might help her, and so she helped me. There was a sort of equality about it. In the Doneger Group Spring/Summer 2013 style forecast video, one trend featured prominently was dubbed “wanderer.” The trend includes loose-fitting clothing, tie-dye and dip-dyed fabrics, earth-toned colors, natural influences, and striking details, such as fringe and beading. This trend is the definition of what Free People stands for. Free People’s aesthetic is now the ‘hip” and “trendy” look among young women, which will cause its profits to soar. Free People is very obviously aware that the style it has embodied for years is just coming into style now. The “festival-wear” vibe that is popular this season is now extremely emphasized in Free People’s advertising.

She works in the family restaurant named the “Dancing Zorba’s.” She is expected to marry into her ethnic group and her father keeps bring different guys for her to meet so she will fulfill her duty as a good Greek daughter. Though Toula has grown up in this culture she is seeking something different which in turn is causing communication problems between her and her family, mostly her father.
ITS 101 HW 1 Creative Work after reading “Pink boots and a machete” I don’t enjoy reading much, but I found this book was really interesting and well-composed autobiography by documenting the author’s journey from NFL cheerleader to the primatologist. I also thought that it is also quite inspiring especially for the young teenage girls. The book starts out with Mireya explaining how she'd have many pets in her small home. She lived with her mother, grandmother and aunt, all 3 being strong Cuban women who inspired her through the years. She goes through school life like any other child, and makes it to college where she tries out for the Miami Dolphins' cheerleading squad, and makes it.
