He has his own room in the barn because he is prohibited from sharing a room with the white men. Candy, looking in awe at Crooks’ room, says “Must be nice to have a room all to yourself”’ Crooks answers with “And a manure pile under the window, Sure it’s swell” (82). This separation makes Crooks more isolated than any other characters because of his lack of human interaction, which causes him extreme loneliness. “I tell ya a guy gets too lonely and he gets sick” (80). This also causes him extreme loneliness.
The narrator than continues describes a tradition in Sicily, where planting of a tree represents the birth of a child, because the earth has "one more life to bear". The narrator claims that he would have followed this tradition. However instead he is in the cold on his knees planting the sequoia, the native tree of California. With the tree he plants a lock of hair and an infant's umbilical cord. Only now in the middle of the poem does the narrator express that he is burying his son and reconnecting him with the elements of nature.
Nicholas was a wealthy Christian priest and later bishop, who traveled the country helping people, giving gifts of money and other presents. He did not like to be seen when he gave away presents, so the children of the day were told to go to sleep quickly or he would not come. Nothing has changed, and Santa Claus will not arrive this Christmas unless the children go to sleep early. The author points out that Clement C. Moore wasn't writing for publication, but to delight his own six children. He refused to have the poem published despite its enthusiastic reception by everyone who read it.

He also tries to trick her by saying that the gun is for his father. Technically Dave never gets permission to own the gun, so it never actually belonged to him. This behavior shows that Dave is not yet ready to own a gun and still has a ways to go before he becomes a man. When Dave lies to his mother about where the gun is hidden, it just proves further that he is acting like a child and not able to take responsibility for his actions. Dave gets out to the field early the morning after he has bought the gun so no one else is around and he starts plowing far away by the woods.
Gatsby has no point in living anymore because the one thing he wanted in life he would never have. As Gatsby died, all the beautiful things around him died including the nature. The grass was dead, the leaves of trees were falling and the darker months were coming. A tree can only live with sunlight and warm weather in order to grow luscious leaves; each season when the warm weather and sun disappears it dies. Gatsby can only live if he had Daisy.
The one cassava farm that had ravaged had not lasted long and there seem to be no rabbits or birds anywhere. They are even so desperate that when they come across a little boy eating two ears of corn, they steal it from him and share it among themselves. His parents do not confront the boys about their behavior, because they seem to know their desperate situation. In fact, later the little boy’s mother gives each of them an ear of corn. This makes Ishmael feel guilty for only a few minutes, because in his position, there isn’t much time for remorse.
The author characterized him during the time of the awakening as a bit shocked because he never saw this side of the society. The government isolated him and others so they can’t see the real world. Montag was well aware before the scene because when he met Clarisse she made him notice life and actually woke up to society. The reason it is significant is because he never experienced those things and if he did he never actually paid attention because he was so caught up with television and starting fires. He was also concerned with moving fast and being oppressed.
