Conflict is something of which everyone can relate to and generally occurs on a day to day basis. Conflict has the potential to cause an individual to succumb to irrational thoughts and sever relationships between the closest of companions. We all approach conflict in a individual way which is instrumental in dictating whether the outcome of their conflict is going to be beneficial or detrimental. It has always been the way that one individual has the power to rule over another, quite often the individual seen as superior has greater wealth or class than the individual and this immediately put them in a position of power. The Secret River has many contexts which are comparable to conflict in early Australia, where the Secret River is set. We take advantage of the power we have and use it for either good or wrong, like Stan lee said once “With Great Power Becomes Great Responsibility”.
