Sarah Smith English M-111 Essay 3 The Rock Star Three years ago I had started working at a fast food restaurant, where I met Vee. His real name Varoujan Korolighian but everyone just calls him Vee for short. Vee and I were both hired on the same day and at first I couldn’t stand to be around him. I hated the way Vee looked, long curly red hair and he was always dressed as if he was about to attend a Heavy metal show. After a while of working with Vee, a friendship began to grow between us. He is an amazing person and I have never met anyone quite like Vee. In the beginning of our friendship, Vee told me he was in a heavy metal band and toured around Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. He had invited me to escort him to one of his shows. I was skeptical about going with him since his appearance kind of bothered me. Vee always wore all black and had piercings all over his face. He was interesting to me, so I decided to go. That’s when I really started to get to know him. Vee was a different person when he got on stage in front of an audience. He had confidence and stood proud. His music was very creative and I hated it. To me, it was just a bunch of screaming and slamming on the drums but that was his passion. While he was performing I would zone out the music and just watch him. Vee would swing his untamed hair around and jump up and down on the stage like it was on fire, screaming into the microphone. Sweat would be soaking his clothes and his face looked like it was about to explode. Vee and his band always brought a huge crowd to a metal show. It was fun to watch him and it gave him an ego boost being watched. Our friendship began to grow and I got to know him even better as time went on. Vee and his family were born in Armenia. He has all the Armenian traits. Vee has a year round tan and has extremely curly hair. He also had an enormous red beard. I
