A child at such an early age can bring stress onto not only the girl, but to her family. If the girl was on birth control at the time, a child may not have to be born, lessening the stress to the already chaotic situation. The choice should, ultimately, be up to the girl. After all, it is her body. Birth control could also possibly reduce the pregnancy rate among young teens.
An unexpected pregnancy as a teen can be a devastating occurrence. It might change the entire course of his or her life to discover they are about to become parents. That is why it is so important for teens that are sexually active to learn the basics about having safe sex and protecting themselves from STDs and unintended teen pregnancy. I think that it is a good idea to offer young teens the different birth control options available such as the commonly known birth control pills or condoms. Also, today we have other options like the birth control patch, Depo-Provera (shot), female condoms, and IUD’s (inter-uterine device) to help lower and prevent teen pregnancy and the spread of

Some girls may think the only way to keep their boyfriend is to have sex with them and the thought of having their baby just to keep them or trap them into staying with them is also a reality which often times back fires on the girl. Girls now days are not so apt to remain a virgin till they are married. Times have changed with each generation coming of age. Young kids do not always think about what their priorities are and what they can do to help themselves keep on track with them. They often time just make decisions that will benefit them for the moment.
if the mother smokes, drinks or abuses drugs the baby could be harmed at this time or even if the maternal anxiety & stress could influence development. Infections that the mother may pick up such as rubella can create difficulties for the developing baby. A child’s development can also be influenced by when their born and during the birth. Some babies are born prematurely and this can play a part in their later development, this is one reason premature babies progress is measured according to the date they were due to be born rather than their actual birth date. External factors Poverty, this affects children and their families in a variety of ways for example, education: lack of opportunities can affect life outcomes, children from low-income families are less likely to do well academically due to the fact of potential of reduced access to quality education and the best schools as well as limited access to a variety of books, equipment plus internet.
With a rapidly changing body and brain, adolescents seek out the independence they crave, while still not having the capacity or capability to truly be on their own. This can cause a great deal of imbalance within the parent-child relationship (Steinburg, 2008, p. 43). For some parents, adolescence is the first time they have seen any indication that their child is no longer that perfect, sweet baby that they once held in their arms. This often causes confusion, and is concerning to them. It is usually at this time that I will get a phone call from a parent asking for my help in dealing with their “out of control” teenager, and Tracy Freeland is no different.
It is very expensive to have a child and the parents need to be aware. Teens who get pregnant also need to know the options available to them. They have three main choices available to them: abortion, adoption, and having the baby. If the parents are not educated in this area, they may make an uneducated decision. Possibly the most important reason that teens need to be educated
Teen-Parent Communication About Sex When young people feel unconnected at home, family, and school, they may become involved in activities that put their health at risk. However, when parents affirm the values of their children, young people often develop positive, healthy attitudes about themselves, therefore delaying in sexual activity. The writer’s purpose(s) for writing these articles is because risky teen behavior is on the rise, and what are parents and families doing/not doing to promote safe behavior? I chose these articles because I am a teen parent, and I feel that if I had been able to have “the talk” sooner, more in depth, and more often, that it may have prevented my pregnancy. Teen Sexuality’s research showed a few things: Adolescents who stated that they were connected with their parents were more likely than other teens to delay sexual intercourse.

Unfortunately, this is the harsh reality that many young adolescents girls are forced to deal with when they engage in unprotected sexual activity. With low levels of maturity and an underdeveloped understanding of responsibility, teens are ill prepared to deal with the consequences of their actions. In recent years the media has portrayed teenage pregnancy as just another obstacle that adolescents may face in their young life. This is why teen pregnancy has become a major social and public health problem in the United States and other countries.
This may not solve the high teen-pregnancy rate nor the spread of sexually transmitted diseases among teens. However, it may stop the increase and cause teens to be more responsible and educated when it comes to sex. In the United States, most of the teenagers are already sexually active and the teenage pregnancy rate is doubled compared to other western countries, with 750,000 teens becoming pregnant annually. This is due to the fact that the teenagers are not
