Just like most churches, the income a church receives is by its members and donations from the community. Since CMC is limited in numbers and located in somewhat of a hidden area, I think the members should all come together and actively contribute to the community. By doing some great examples can be helping the homeless shelter, offering free tutoring to kids, having free car washes, and also donating whatever we can to the less fortunate. By doing this the church can bring across more people in knowing about not only the lord and all the great deeds he has done but also, Cerritos Mission Church. Not only are we doing this all for free for the community and to bring attendance but also, the main goal is to spread and worship the lord to the people of Cerritos.

The members of my church community have provided me with the support and encouragement to achieve my goals. In addition, my peers in the church community through their hard work and successes have encouraged me to pursue my own goals. They have served as role models for me and I hope that I can serve as a role model for the next generation. Being involved in both my school and church communities has stimulated my academic and personal growth by the presence of role models in the community, the high expectations, and the encouragement that I received as a part of both. Whither I realize it or not people are always watching me. So how do I want them to remember me? So I’ve been trying to set a good example so that I wont have to tell people my beliefs, but that they can see it through my actions. His trust in God amazes me. It makes me want to get in the word and commit like him.
There is a strong emphasis put on keeping those in the fold of the Church and going out and recruiting the heathens who do not come to Church. Instead Billings has so graciously broaden the prospective to show the Church that the people who are not coming should still be a part of the Church community and their needs are just as important as those inside the Church. The greatest opportunities for the Church are when the ‘outsiders’ decide they have a reason to come and use the Church as a resource. They may need the Church for a baptism, a wedding, or a funeral; these opportunities are great to show that the Church bears life and is there to support them. The present society appears to have an identity predicament with the Church, because there is a tremendous amount of self-help propaganda in this society; therefore they simply do not care about a commitment with the Church, but can read about how to be better people in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
There are people who do good things because of their faiths and the camaraderie of the various religious groups is undeniably beneficial for local communities. However, people who do good things simply because their faith tells them to do so and not because they can see the good they can do with their own eyes need a good wake up call. No God, Preacher, Priest or religious person should have to influence the actions and decisions you make, isn't the human nature enough? Are people too afraid to act upon their own instincts? Will people forever be sheep and follow the words of others, the words of people who lived thousands of years
* Action If I was speaking with a friend, I would most definitely tell them to keep God at the forefront of their lives. I would proceed by asking them how things have worked out on their own without praying on their situation. Often times when we do things without asking for God’s help, we make a mess of things in my opinion. I would encourage them to seek God’s word for the bible has the answers to the problems that we face today. I believe that integrating theology and psychology into practice can be attained and can benefit the client greatly.
A sign-up sheet can be utilized with the the emphasis that people need to not see it as just another thing to do but will be intentional in praying. The purpose of this team will be to pray for the needs of the church. This will in turn revitalize the church. In What Every Pastor Should Know it reads, “Praying for others is a great way to enhance the spiritual maturity of your corporate body and individual members” (McIntosh, et al. 234).
I hope that as a student at Calvin I would be able to encourage others because others have encouraged and strengthened me in this aspect. I hope that this mentality and striving for a better relationship with Him would be encouraging for others around
