As our consumers view our pins and re-pin them our brand is exposed to new consumers as well as untapped markets. Facebook is a social app that allows us to easily reward our consumers for their loyalty and friendliness. One key issue is the ease of finding people on these sites, on Facebook it is so much easier to locate someone you are looking for. Facbook also has more ways to share pictures and videos among friends. A key issue for Twitter is there is a maximum length of 140 characters that can be shared on one “Tweet”. Although these sites are both used for social media networking they are both utilized for different reasons. Twitter is known to be more a message board, and Facebook is full service information website among friends.

In Josh Roses’: How social media is having a positive impact on our culture, in Current Issues Page.612. Josh states, “I recently asked the question to my face book friends: “Twitter, Face book, Foursquare … is all of this making you feel closer to the people or farther away?” There would be a lot different responses because some people might agree and say that it does bring me closer to people and other might say no, it keeps us farther away from people of our age. 2/18/13 Marketing Social Media I would describe social media as exactly as it sounds, media that uses and requires social interaction. Its also a way for businesses to reach their customers other than tv and billboard ads. I use social media everyday including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more. It allows me to connect with people I do not talk to everyday. They are also fun and a good way to waste time.
Social media may increase confidence in making friends because they do not require interacting face-to-face. Another issue that proves social media are not making us anti-social is they reduce distant between people. By one click, recent news of friends could be easily acquired. The people who report news on Social Media are usually more true to their values, and report with less prejudice than people who report for Popular Media, because they have no commercialism, and so called employers telling them what to publish, or what not to publish. Popular Media must first satisfy special interest Social Media must satisfy no one, except their own personal freedom of expression. This knowledge is believed to be important for us all, so that we can decide how we would like our information delivered.
