You can serve on a jury, be prosecuted as an adult, and legally adopt. They are given all of these rights and responsibilities. Another reason is that there has been statistics that show that other countries, like Europe, have less or equal as many problems with drunk drivers of an age under 21. It is also known in Italy that they start to drink at a young age maybe a glass of wine with dinner. This method helps the children to know how to behave with alcohol and also does not give them the urge to sneak around and act a fool with alcohol.
Illegal drugs use in America has been very hard to tackle with the Govenment over the years, and I don't believe it will happen soon. But I do believe slowing down some of the other problems that has arised with illegal drugs, like the spread of viruses through unclean needles, should be looked into and acted on with our tax dollars. Only BECAUSE saftey and wellness should be everyones responsibility, from the Government involvement all the way to the tax payers. The debate on tax dollars to fund some participating States has been on-going, and not everyone wants to pay. Not to mention, not everyone wants it in their areas.
Should The Legal Drinking Age Be Lowered To Eighteen Should the Legal Drinking Age Be Lowered to 18? Lowering the legal drinking age to eighteen is a topic that has a strong argument from both sides. One side says the legal drinking age should remain at twenty-one; meanwhile, the younger part of the population (18 - 21) feel that the legal age to consume alcohol should be eighteen, as I feel. The legal drinking age should be changed back to eighteen, as it was in the mid 1980’s for several reasons: drinking in moderation is proven healthful, the number of under age drinkers would be lowered, and if people can go to war and defend our country, then our country should allow them to consume alcohol. A study shows that drinking in moderation is healthful, and can also make a person more enjoyable.
London:Mac Keith Press,2007.Print This book was comprised of good information about young alcohol consumption, but it was not very useful in lowering the drinking age. This book is more for dealing with people who have been abusing the privilege of drinking. The clinical approaches were interesting to read about but not very useful when deciding a side for my topic. All in all there were a lot of strong facts in this book just non that I could really apply in my
Until the nineteenth century, no American would have dreamed of castigating liquor, because it was a traditional custom that was engrained in their social habits for centuries. Established elites employed drink, especially through the use of liquor in elections, as a basic element of maintaining social control and preserving the existing social order. An attack on liquor would therefore be an assault on the fundamental structure and values of society. The Puritans did condemn intemperance but in drinking their ideal was moderation, not abstinence. This idea of moderation was interpreted very liberally in colonial America, even the use of hard liquor was considered drinking in moderation.
One being the unconstitutional intrusion based on the 4th Amendment, and the other reason being the cost of the test and the testing procedures. Kelly counters that by stating the testing regime itself is “definitely worth testing.” The original idea behind states testing for substance abuse was to limit or decrease excess spending of government funds on people that were spending the money on drugs or alcohol instead of the necessities for the well-being of the children. The debate continues and Kelly is willing to amend her bill to satisfy some the controversy, but not to less out the testing
Although she does not mention using benefits on drugs, it is still not being used for the reason intended. Applicants tend to rely too much on assistance and how easy it is to access. By also putting her message on social media she will only encourage more people in her situation to take that route versus finishing up school or trying to find full time work. It is a fine line to walk however, when tax dollars are going to people like Chapter Jackson we are all losing in that case. The responsibility of welfare abuse lies within the Government.
This was all done with the idea that things could be changed and adjusted through political debate and voting. This would still keep the people in the say as to what would be made policy and law. These ideas would be unique and different from what life was like in England at the time, or anywhere, in any time period, up to that point. Many empires had single rulers or monarchs and there was little to no say from the people. If the people did have the chance to voice an opinion on something, it may be considered but the final say always was left to the, king, monarch, or ruler of the time.
Those who are in favor of the war on drugs encourage its funding and continuation because of the perceived link between drugs and crime, and the detrimental health effects and medical economic impact that illegal drugs have on the body. There is a growing trend among Americans that is pushing for the legalization or, at least, the regulation of drugs by the government. However, the consensus in American society is to keep drugs illegal and these philosophies are evidenced in the political policies of America. By taking a look at the approach of these policies, the pros and cons of drug legalization can be assessed. The concern of the public and politicians has made for a storied history in the American drug war.
Reasons for the introduction of this extraordinary experiment in social behavior are: -Pressure groups are campaigning for the abolition of alcohol since the nineteenth century. -There are argument about alcohol being the cause of much poverty, crime, and ill health. -Supporters of Prohibition are influential in rural areas, it managed the persuade some state governments to ban alcohol within their states. -They think alcohol linked to German Aggression as American brewers were of German descent. They think it was unpatriotic to consume alcoholic drink.
