The SPUNKY KID: gutsy and true, she is loyal to the end. She is a favorite of many writers, and for good reason. You can’t help but root for her. She’s the girl with moxie. She’s not looking to be at the top of the heap; she just wants to be in her own little niche.
Eleanor had a very pro-active morale and it is no surprise that throughout her husband’s presidency that she often ranked higher in popularity polls then the president. Not only was she a women whom one could learn from by her actions, but she is also commonly known for her inspirational quotes that many people take to heart even today. Her most well-known quote today is probably “no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Another popular quote was “a woman is like a tea bag you never will know how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” But regardless her quotes she is known for her actions spoke much louder then her words. Mama finally stands up to Dee and realizes the beauty in Maggie. Mama is a simple woman. She has worked hard her entire life and has done the best to support her family. Although Mama may not agree with Dee, it seems as if she is caught up in Dee’s opinions and behavior. Almost as if she wants to be enough for Dee because she knows she never has been.
treI haven't written a paper in about 12 years. Since I've just recently gone back to school, I have found it very difficult. When I was in high school I really enjoyed reading and writing papers, I have lately found that i have a hard time expressing my words on paper. I really do not enjoy writing. I do not have any misconceptions about writing I'm just very out of practice and I'm sure with time it will become a lot easier and feel more natural.
“A Minnesota teacher of seventh and ninth grades says that she has to spend extra time in class editing papers and must 'explicitly' remind her students that is is not acceptable to use text slang and abbreviations in writing” (Cullington 89). Also, “many complain that because texting does not stress the importance of punctuation, students are neglecting it in their formal writing” (Cullington 89). These points are valid, but the evidence is limited because it is based on a few personal experiences, rather then a large study with much more research.
The Woman of Willendorf may have been looked up to back in Common Era due to her capabilities. Her "womanly features" emphasized to show that she was respected because of what she has naturally, and her ability to reproduce. Barbie, on the other hand, is highly superficial. People look up to her now because she is beautiful, and is successful within her career as she has evolved to become other beings such as Barbie Police and Barbie Doctor. But the biggest difference with her is that achieving her looks may be highly unlikely.
Francine Prose states, "Traditionally, the love of reading has been born and nurtured in high school English class." I disagree with this statement only because of my own personal experience. My love of reading was stimulated by my own passionate mother who instilled in me from a very early age that reading books frequently is important for any educated individual. I was very startled to find that other children weren't as lucky as me, relying primarily on their school education to teach them how to read and to love reading. By the time that we were in middle school, the majority of my friends felt that reading was a chore and turned their noses up at any books I'd suggested to them.
Not everyone wants that much help! Teachers, quit making me take notes all the time! There are certain teachers that will grade you on your notes, calling it a participation grade. That has got to be the biggest load of crap I've ever heard! Many kids like myself are blessed with the capability to understand and remember things just by actively participating in the class discussion and listening to their teachers.
I knew I could succeed in whatever I wanted to do with my life, but the problem was I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. As students; however, we all process many strengths, mine being that I’m a great reader, but I wasn’t always a great reader. When I was in first grade, I was placed in special education because of my poor reading skills. Now this helped me a lot, by showing me where my weaknesses where in reading. Consequently

The 7th grade was an easy year for me work was slightly hard my teacher Mrs. McPherson was a nice lady who was kind of gullible when it came to her students. In her class test were always in order something I was not proud of was when I was in middle school I would cheat on everything and anything possible. My writing experience came into play the middle of 7th grade when papers and book reports were expected by my teacher. Once the papers started to come in my life started getting harder in school I tried anything to get out of writing essays and short stories.
