The Federalist Papers The United States of America may not exist today, but because of men who stood for what they believed in, this is why we stand strong today. These men thought there was a place where freedom of speech, religion and other fundamental freedoms could exist. The common man wanted a place where things they felt were important to them could be addressed and practiced without fear of prosecution. These men would put their lives on the line to gain something they never had before. These men fought and used many tools to gain an advantage on England that would help break them away from the country that held them in their grasp.
According to King, it is impractical because it slows the process of ending the oppression for all, and it is immoral because it seeks humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding. So, violence destroys community and brotherhood by planting hatred rather than love. The third way based on King is nonviolent resistance. He believes in this way no individual or group need give in to any wrong, nor need anyone resort to violence in order to right a wrong. According to king, this is the method that oppressed people must follow to win against the unjust system while loving the perpetrators of the system.

Student Professor English 305 6 November 2009 I Say No To Hate Crime Laws Hate crimes are an irrational, ignorant and cowardly expression of desperation. A person who commits a hate crime is desperate to feel better, superior and in control. That being said, there should not be special laws and mandatory sentences for people who commit these heinous acts of violence because they do not accomplish the goals of eradicating or deterring bigotry. If we, as a society, put special laws and punishments into our legal system, we are unequivocally saying that the motive of these acts is more important than the intent or outcome of these crimes. George Washington strove for personal betterment and used past errors to propel him to greater pursuits. As a result, the world came to know him as one evenhanded and equitable.
The gradually declining dialect limits the ideas that individuals have the potential of formulating and expressing, promoting a narrowing of thoughts and awareness to their system of control. It is therefore ideal for a totalitarian system. By the ‘destruction of words’, ‘thought-crime’ is made almost entirely impossible by curtailing frivolous and rioting words. Such narrowed public thought is the inner- party’s aim, as a populace that lacks the ability to think vividly, eliminates the threat of an uprising against the government. This system of communication is therefore used as a mind-control tool.
The people that Shelton killed are considered combatants because they support they governmental system and work with it. Based on Just War Theory, the proportionality of killing these people is that their deaths are outweighed by the justice that will bring to the judicial system. Shelton believes the system to be corrupt, focusing instead on conviction rates rather than making sure the right person is placed behind bars. By killing these people Shelton can put a new mindset into the “system” because those affected by the killings will want the right man punished rather since they now know how it feels to be wronged. All the killings made by Shelton were to people who were directly showed how flawed the system was.
It was a great speech because of all the writing techniques that he used and ethos, pathos, and logos, used in the speech. This speech does not only bring us emotion, but authority and reasoning also it brings us face-to-face with the problems that our country had. This speech woke many people and urged them to change their ways. Of course, the problem continued and really still has not been solved completely, but we seem to have taken a big step since the last “March on Washington”.
