The New Zealand Government should actively increase the number of immigrants According to history, all New Zealanders are immigrants. Almost one in four people was born overseas. New Zealand (NZ) has developed an international reputation as a welcoming and tolerant country for immigrants. Recently, the NZ government set an aiming for the country to catch up to the Australian GDP per capita by 2025. This essay argues that government should keep increasing the number of immigrants, one of the effective ways to fulfil their goal. It will discuss the benefits of migrants on economic, social and ethnic views. New Zealand has a major problem in national budget. The government has tried to solve this by increasing investment in business. As New Zealand is an island country, transportation to another country can be made in all ways except from railways. However, it is in the far-east part of the world and investments are very rare because of less population. Increasing immigrants will bring positive in budget. In addition, the economic market will become wider if more business people immigrate to the country. Immigrants are entrepreneurial because they bring new ideas, products and markets. Moreover the business people bring not only their money but also their skills and experiences. The country needs many young-people in several areas such as healthcare and social services, and IT area. Health care services in NZ are really good, but it is expensive because the number of nurses, doctors is very less. Furthermore, people in New Zealand have become aging and the country began to worry about the shortage of skilled workers and migrants.
