THE MOST SERIOUS PROBLEM IN SOCIETY The most serious problem in society, in my opinion, is society itself. Society these days is just sick. The violence, amount of crimes, murders, and drugs out on the street is embarrassing to our country. Also, the corruption that happens in the government is astonishing. On the street, there are so many people that are homeless and live off of a couple of bucks a day. They live in places infested with drugs, violence, and crime, yet right nearby there are people that literally take baths in hundred dollar bills, who live houses worth millions. Another thing is that it’s not all just the people, it’s also the government. There are many severe cases of police brutality in New York. For example, I have some personal experiences in police brutality. Back home I used to skateboard, and everyone knows that we are one of the most targeted groups for police brutality. I have seen my friends victimized by police brutality and unable to do anything about it. Another example is when people were protesting the 99%, a group of people were being sprayed with government-grade pepper spray while they were sitting down, doing nothing but peacefully protesting. This has to stop no matter what, because there are too many cases like these. But sometimes extreme measures have to be taken in this kind of world. What happened a few months ago is petrifying. Twenty-seven people, mostly elementary school kids, were shot and killed by a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary school. What is even worse is that people tried to take advantage of the situation and act as a mother or father of a kid that died to gain money. I call those kind of people because believe they must have some type of mental disorder.
