So Emily is hard to get married at that age. So it is hard for Emily to avoid isolation. Mr. Grierson refuses the man who Emily tries to marry with. Grierson’s family is on an eminence position, and people think that Emily may not love a person from low position. “None of the young men were quite good enough for Miss Emily and such”
He is a victim of favoritism, and because of never being the one with the attention he has learned not to be like his bad father and his brother by teaching himself what is right in others eyes, not the eyes of his dad. At the opening of the story, Wes is described as a “boring” sheriff of a small town in Montana. Wes had attended law school but forcefully had to take over his father’s position of county sheriff. It was evident that this was not an ideal position for him. Because of his position rather than his brother’s, he experiences jealousy and is a victim of favoritism.
Also, her lack of intelligence has left her with no job and an inability to get a job. In the story, there are many reasons contributing to Jean’s feeling of emptiness and difficulty in her life. To begin, her husband, Ross feels as though he has married beneath himself, and he does not love her anymore. Their marriage was most likely caused by Jean getting pregnant with their son, which made Ross feel like he had to marry her out of force. In the story, Ross specifically tells their son, Kevin that he should try not to marry beneath himself because he will end up stuck in the same situation as him.
But, his dad was getting beat up and him or his dad could not move. And when his dad disappears over night, he did not care about life anymore. He cared for his dad to a great extent. Also, when the dentist wanted his gold crown out of his mouth. He did not want to go so he made up an excuse not to get it removed.
5) Leonce never asks Edna how her day is going, or how she is feeling about certain things, yet he expects her to be completely mesmerized with him and his conversations. If Edna doesn't act the way a lady should, it could ruin Leonce's business. The people of the community will look down on him if they know his wife is out of control like he thinks she is. She doesn't take care of the children, she has an artistic pastime that interferes with family duties, and she wants freedom. This could really ruin Mr. Pontellier's
The reason to Conrad’s suicide attempt is his mom's acute coldness towards him shows her ultimate despise of Conrad because she blames him for not dying instead of her favorite first born son. After his suicide, Conrad is asked to see a psychiatrist by his father. Cal tries to bring the family back together, Beth, Conrad and himself, but fails to do so. Beth never once visited Conrad in the hospital and barely checks up on him to see if he was asleep. She began to shut herself from her husband and most importantly, her son.
Mayella is rarely explained through out the novel so her background is kept short and simple, however you can see the great affect of not having a mother around has on her. Mayella consequence from not being vocal and telling the truth in To Kill a Mockingbird is one of personal growth. She does not learn how to take ownership for her actions neither does she learns how to stand up against her father. Mayella Ewell and her father Bob will always have the blood of Tom Robinson on their hands because of his abusiveness and because Mayella is complacent about her fathers angry
August knows that June is afraid to fall in love again because the last man that she fell in love with left her. June and Neil argue a lot about the issue of marriage; once their fight gets so bad that June tells him that if he leaves then he should never come back because she will never marry him. Even though at the beginning of the novel June did not want to take a chance and let people love her, she realizes that if you let someone in life becomes a lot
His father Baba thinks he is not tough enough; Amir allows Hassan to protect him when he is bullied. Amir worries that Baba does not like him because Amir's mother died giving birth to him. Amir also writes stories. His father is not very interested, but his friend Rahim Khan reads them and encourages him. Amir does not have the courage to talk to his dad or stand up for himself.
Victor literally compared himself to a slave because he was extremely caught up in his work. Honestly I’m not too fond of Victor’s personality because of how obsessed he got with science. Maybe he just was too nerdy of a person for me I don’t know I just can’t make many connections with him. Also, I find it weird that he becomes friends with a girl named Elizabeth then his parents adopt her because her parents died then the parents say that they should marry some day. I find that odd because I think that brothers and sisters should not marry or fall in love no matter if they are adopted or not, I just find that strange.
