For a school to be the best place to mould good behavior and emotions, it needs to have consistent rules and consequences in case an individual breaks them. There should be avenues to solve various types of conflicts and close connection between the school and culture. Intense supervision should give students a sense of belonging and allow students to fully and confidently participate in the schools affairs.
Positivists believe that questionnaires are very reliable and that is the main positive goal. However, interpretivists reject the view of questionnaires as they claim it isn’t valid as the respondent on has ‘yes and no’ answer questions and they don’t go into depth with the answer. It is important because it can help reverse some of the effects that bullying can have on children and young people. It is also a life skill and will be useful to a child in many areas of life, it will give them confidence not only to stand up for themselves but also to champion the rights of others, it can help to increase the child’s value in themselves and helps to promote and restore self-esteem. It can prevent children taking more drastic action like self-harming or suicide and can send a message to the bullies that what they’re doing is not working.

Effective communication is fundamental in building positive relationships with children, young people and adults alike. When working with children, young people and adult’s communication is the most important thing to building a positive relationship. Having good communication skills will help us develop better relationships especially with younger people. Some students who lack in confidence may find it hard to communicate at all with us, so if we come across to that student in a positive and gentle manner they are more likely to open up to us and talk.
It teaches that that we have to respect people that have authority over us. Although, I don’t think a lot of things were right that happened in the book. Yeah, you should respect people that have authority over you, but the people that do shouldn’t take power of that. No one should ever get beat up because they were listening to someone, or they shouldn’t get bullied cause of it either. The teachers also should have stepped in when they saw the fight happening and not just stood there.
Other essential aspects to be considered include the following: Showing respect and taking the time to listen, making sure of clarity on key points, showing consideration for others and remembering personal issues, finally being effective in your communication and retaining a good sense of humour. Providing these strategies are followed it should ensure that the relationships that are developed in school are positive for all parties involved. It is vital that the ways in which we can develop this is given great thought as positive relationships are not something which should be left to chance. Adaptation in different situations to combat this is necessary, for example, in a meeting more formal language and clothing would be appropriate.

Balance is the key to success because when there is balance in one’s life there is a cut back of stress, which makes room for the ability to thrive; and a person’s ability to thrive is what carries them to their personal success.
