The book is always better than the movie. In my case this saying has almost always been true. When taking a book and turning it in into a movie you can’t include everything, if you took the book and used it word for word as a script you would get a six hour long movie. Not only would people not sit through a movie that long, some things don’t translate well from book to film. The screenwriter and the director have to decide what parts aren’t needed to tell the story and what parts can be moved around to make the film flow in a more fluid way. The director also has to find a way to take descriptions in the book and make images out of them. Without good editing and imagery you can still get a good film, it just won’t be a film that is true to the book. For Example, in the book Anne Frank, she was in love with Peter Vanpels a boy that was inside the annex with her. They were both Jews, however; in the movie it does not show the scene of how they fell in love. Alice Sebold was born September 6, 1963. She was raped while being a college undergraduate. “After reporting her case to the police, one of the officers said she was "lucky" to be alive. Not long before, another rape had occurred in the same tunnel where Sebold had been attacked, that had resulted in a woman's death and dismemberment” (Biography). She eventually returns to school to finish her degree, but it only brought more traumas. Her attacker was capture and sent to prison. Her parents proved a little bit of support. In 2002 she published the lovely Bones, which became a New York Times bestseller. “My name was Salmon, like the fish; first name Susie. I was fourteen when I was murder on September
