Given that the philosophy of friendship based on matters of congruence is not an accurate gauge of true friendship, create a theory explaining true friendship based on any of the following relationships of the Little Prince (just choose 1): 1) with the rose, 2) with the pilot, or 3) with the fox. Provide two (2) instances from the novel The Little Prince. Friendship is a very important component in the life a person. It is a state of mutual trust and support between two individuals. It instills a sense of trust, safety and comfort in our minds. Without friendship, the world will be a place filled with hatred, distrust, panic and despair. This is why it is essential for us, as human beings, to be informed on how to establish friendships with other human beings. There are many different theories that strive to explain how two individuals become friends. Some say that it is a matter of similar likes and interests, others say that it is simply fate, but one thing remains the same in most theories: there cannot be friendship without trust. Trust is the foundation of friendship; it must always be present for friendship to prevail. This principle is best exemplified by the relationship between the Little Prince and the fox. When the two first met, the Little Prince asked the fox to play with him. The fox replied saying that before he can play with the Little Prince, he first needs to be tamed by him. The fox then explains that taming means to establish ties and build a relationship with another person. Once they have tamed each other, they will become unique and special to each other. This instance from the novel shows just how we can establish a relationship with other people.
