Progress Is a Slow Process: The Ku Klux Klan Needs To Be Dismantled Immediately

Still burning crosses are we? One would think the answer to this is no, but as reported by the Associated Press the Ku Klux Klan is still alive and well in America. Today, hate crimes should not be happening, yet they are occurring all over the country. From the east coast to the west coast the KKK is reminding the world that they will not take the recent diversity of America lightly. The Ku Klux Klan should be banned as an organization, and any and all of its members who are caught should be jailed.
Founded in 1865 by Tennessee Confederate war veterans, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was formed as a group designed to restore white supremacy all throughout the southern part of America. Back then, the clan used to do horrible things such as burn houses, lynch and rape black people, commit numerous atrocities, and did anything they could to instill fear of the White race into anyone of color. One would think that those days are long gone, yet here in the twenty first century that KKK is still alive and well.
On March 2, 2010 it was reported by the Associate Press that a KKK style mask was found on the campus of UC San Diego. The incident that occurred at UC San Diego is just one of many that has occurred over recent years that serves as a rude awakening that not everyone is happy that the black is community thriving and succeeding. The hood incident that occurred at UC San Diego followed two other UC San Diego incident, a February off-campus, student-organized "Compton Cookout" party that mocked Black History Month with ghetto stereotypes; and a noose found hanging from a library bookshelf last week.
For any of the recent activity to be allowed in the twenty first century is completely and absolutely unacceptable. Many do not see these events as significant, and might even mistake or demean them to simple jokes; yet this is no laughing...
