How does the writer show the conflict in her thoughts and feeling about hunting? The writer uses her personal experience to describe the feeling and thoughts in a harsh environment vividly. In the third paragraph, the writer writes a few sentences to show that ‘an essential contributor to the survival of the hunters in High Arctic’. It can be obviously seen that catching the narwhals to eat is necessary, as the people need to survive on them. The author uses some technical language such as ‘vitaminC’ and ‘scurvy’ to implie that this is the only source of food, energy, tools and money in the High Arctic, which shows her sympathy to the hunters as hunting for Narwale is the only job they can do.
It showed how polar Eskimos lived and how they interact with others, which includes trading. The Eskimos always staying together with their families everywhere they go, which includes hunting and trading. The main cause for the small population of the Eskimos was the lack of resources, which they did not have but they try to manage. There were no vegetables but they rather eat raw meat in other to survive. From my experience from “Top of the world” and knowledge gotten from Dr. Peas, if the first born is a girl, the child is set out on the ice to die.

After the plane crashes, Brian knows he needs to make a shelter as soon as possible to protect himself from weather and large and dangerous animals. One of the first things he does is make a new shelter and he decides to builds his shelter against a rock wall “when he went in he found himself in a room about fifteen feet wide and eight to ten feet deep” (Paulsen 61). He also makes a bow to catch fish and fool birds. The first bow fails but soon “He had made a new bow, with slender limbs and a more fluid gentle pull” (Paulsen 118). With the working bow, he could catch and kill fish and birds to eat their meat and make feathered arrows.
The Nanticoke were real good fisherman because they lived by a river. So fishing was a big part of their culture. Their clothing was usually made from animal’s skins. Mostly deer skin and bear skin was used usually. Even though there were a lot of wolves in the area they didn’t use them because they were considered to be their friends.
The Sinagua performed ceremonies and rituals in a lot of different arrangements like rectangular community rooms, and kivas. Some of the most important ceremonies they performed were communal hunting rituals. The ceremonies were led mostly by men, but compellingly they worshiped a goddess named Tihkuyiwugti. She was the mother of most of the animal they hunted like mountain sheep, bear, and deer. Also, fascinatingly, the witchdoctors would look for omens and try and look into the future by eating mushrooms to produce hallucinations.
I selected a group of native peoples called the Inuit’s. Today I decided to be an Inuit boy within the tribe that lives within the artic circle my daily life Begins early in the morning when we prepare for hunting with other tribesmen. As an Inuit I get dressed in 3-4 coat layers of fur made out of what I have hunted not only that I have used skin and fur I also use the bones and teeth of the animals to make buttons and weapons for us to hunt. Inuit clothing and footwear are sown together with needles of animal bones and any other animal parts. We definitely need our furry clothes and moccasins in order to go out hunting in the cold Artic weather.
They have dolls, hoop games, and special games to play with. The mothers carried their babies in cradleboards on their back, a custom some people still do now. Blackfoot women are in charge of the house, like cooking and cleaning. Women built the houses and brought heavy posts with them when the tribe moved. Blackfoot men hunted and fished.
Moose, Red Deer, Elk and Lynx are all natives to the forest and their capability to adapt has allowed them to survive. Some ways these animals have adapted are by giving birth to offspring in the spring so that their babies don't have to face the brutal winter conditions and are more likely to survive. Accumulating layers of fat in their body to withstand the chilling winters and growing thick coats of fur to keep themselves warm are two other adaptations these animals have made to continue
