Oscar Ibarra John Albert English 091 March 6, 2012 The Interest in Reading Many writers would say that people need to be a good reader to understand writing, for many of them as individuals they find reading to be difficult or a task. If they could find more interest in the reading then writing should come easy for them. According to Alberto Manguel and Rick Moody reading with interest is what made them to want to become great writers. For many readers they have a hard time finding books of interest when usually in a classroom or in an office. In “In the joy and enthusiasm of reading” Rick Moody explains in his writings that at an early age he found reading an enjoyment because of how he approached books and reading. “I believe in choosing books based on the dust jacket…I believe in reading books because others dislike them or find them dangerous…I believe in choosing the hardest book imaginable,” (Moody 3). Moody explains that his approach to books was different from others which made it interesting. Moody also explains that readers should enjoy the book and should read for joy and enthusiasm. “And yet I know only what joy and enthusiasm about reading have taught me in bookstore new and used.”(Moody 4). It is important for people to find books that interest them, but it is also important to read something that People do not usually read. Sometimes it is good to read because people do not just enjoy reading they also learn from it. Such writers as Alberto Manguel explain his interest in reading came not just from books, but from everyday situations.
