The Influence of Christianity Religion on Developing Societies Cynthia Collins HIS 103 Prof. Lynn Marlowe January 23, 2012 The Influence of Christianity Religion on Developing Societies The most ultimate history book on life is filled with detailed information and instructions for mankind. The bible has the richest details of the Christianity religion as it existed before the world was formed. As stated in the bible, John 1:1-3 “In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD was GOD. The same was in the beginning with GOD. All things were made by HIM and without HIM was not anything made that was made.” (KJV) That statement alone proves the fact that the “Christianity religion” existed before time began. Christianity is a religion based on the life, teachings and example of Jesus Christ. This paper will display the influences of the Christianity religion and the impact it had on developing societies from the time of Jesus Christ birth until after His death and modern day societies. I will use several sources to contribute to the research relating to this work. “One of the strongest of the influences exerted by the Christian religion was the bond which it created among people of different races. The religions of the ancient world, with few exceptions, had been national in their character, and had strictly excluded outsiders from any part or benefit therein. Christianity, on the contrary, appealed to whoever would embrace it, of whatever race or nationality, and the line which it drew was not that between those of one race and those of another, but between those who accepted the belief and those who rejected it.
