UNIT 513 POSITIVE OUTCOMES FOR INDIVIDUALS Dear shell i have thrown this together quickly so it may not be too good but hopefully will be ebough xxxx 1. As a manager it is vital that i support my staff team to achieve and demonstrate desirable outcomes with and for the people they support in whatever capacity.By outcomes I mean the specification of the differences that are intended to result from a given activity. 2. Approaches to outciome based practise should be open and transparent, it should involve all of the people supporting the person and the person should be in the centre of it all. Taking into account the opinions of others and listeneing properly to their input will encourage a healthy team and also give the person involved control of whos and what input they would like in their support.
to be able to liase and negotiate with others enables a communication that can be used for all reasons and all parties, being able to pass on information to every agency involved in a full and precise manner. Communication is also the key to allow us to express emotions, needs and feelings freely and confidently knowing there will be someone who will acknowledge us and will help us meet our needs. 1.2 Making sure you have effective relationships in the work place and establishing them enables you to support other people and also for them to support you in times of need. Creating a positive working environment in which everyone experiences job satisfaction, children's and young peoples development is supported, adults work together as a team aiming to provide the best possible service they can. Communication in the workplace also helps provide easy transitions such as new children/young people or new staff settling in to the environment and this helps to manage the situation sensitively.
Trust is developed by clearly defining roles, expectations, and goals. This develops a familiarity between the different team members, which helps to produce a shared vision and reliance on each other and improves the team’s effectiveness (Bethea, Holland, & Reddick 2014). A highly effective team uses its shared vision and defined goals to foster a sense of group harmony. This allows for problems to be solved and goals to be achieved. With each problem solved or goal achieved, excitement grows within the team and a sense of accomplishment is felt once the process is completed (Bethea, Holland, & Reddick 2014).
They should never take bribes or act corruptly. Any leader should be a person who can set an example for the people and act as a role model to those looking up to them. The second most important trait that a leader should have is responsibility which true leaders are willing to accept. All leaders should always take full responsibility for a task. They must take responsibility before accepting to take on the task as well as after it has been accomplished.
The mission statement is a written statement that states your team’s purpose and helps to inspire and motivate your team; the vision statement takes this one step further and looks at the desired future for your work team. Having the teams input into these goals and objectives helps give the team members ownership and a sense of belonging to the team. When the team’s goals are set, they need to have a certain criteria that must be met to make them a realistic goal. They must be clear, concise, have a set time frame, and most importantly, be measurable. These goals need to link with the organisations goals and KPI’s to help create a more efficient workplace.
When the time comes and I address things that need to be fixed, I do not receive negative feedback from my employees. They all understand the issue at hand and try to fix it, based on their roles and tasks. Overall, I believe that one can be a successful leader if they can be a successful manager. Both of these titles work best hand-in-hand. A leader is someone that leads a team toward the main goal.
With Transformation Leadership, one of the specific characteristics is being about the group rather than the one individual. Coach K talks about building trusting relationships so that the group can go on and be sustained and successes if something was to happen to a key member or the leadership. Successful teamwork can be built and maintained if the leadership builds trust, encourages and promotes collective responsibility, caring and pride within the group. All of these components combined (trust, responsibility, caring, pride) can also all work together for another Transformation Leadership characteristic, leadership being elevating. When the leadership works to incorporate and put in place these ideas, one can begin to elevate the group to be better than what they were.
