Research design is important and useful because it will organize, arrange what we will do, and present it in our research. A research design is the arrangement of conditions for collection and analysis of data in a manner that aims to combine relevance to the research purpose with economy in procedure. Our research is entitled effectiveness of social media as marketing tool. In our search we will use two types of sources (secondary and primary). It will be very easy to get information from secondary sources, because in 21st century, the use of the Internet has become very easy and well developed and will save us a lot of time, so it would be most of our research from secondary sources. Here there will be little fatigue but we will be comfortable and sure of these sources because we know it's true and reliable and we do not need to be sure of it, because it is the right center of information. One of the sources we used here is a questionnaire on social media and interviews with some consumers of three growing brands. Research objective: In this paper, we will try to analyze the effectiveness of social media in customer engagement in the Middle East with a number of objectives like: - Benefits of social media to engage customers in the United Arab Emirates. - Growing social media platforms. - Companies that use the social media effectively to market their products. During the interview, bond and trust was established and complete confidentiality given without revealing the identity of the individuals. At the interview, a structured in-depth interview questionnaire is used and interviewees were free to comment outside the structured questions if they consider it important and would add something to the research. These comments by the interviewees might help in building the survey questionnaire. Questionnaire surveys will be used, which is the most common and most widely used as a research instrument. Survey questionnaires will be varied between (yes/no) questions and other questions that contain from three to eight multiple choices. The structured questionnaire established an effective related link between the research objectives and the questions asked. In order to find more truthful answers from the survey, a definition of the topic of the project “Social media as a marketing tool” was provided before the questions to explain the meaning of it and make sure the respondents understands the topic and be able to answer the
