There are many steps involved in the revision part of the writing process. These steps are all very important to reaching the end goal of having a proper and grammatically and mechanically correct paper. However, the revision process is usually very detailed and tedious. The first step in writing a paper is to write an introduction that that clearly expresses the point of the paper. The introduction should also briefly and clearly outline the ideas that will be discussed throughout the paper; it is best to have these ideas written in the order thy will appear in the body of the paper. If your introduction is not clear, your audience might have difficulties understanding and following the progression or point of the paper. When you write your paper a very important idea, if not the most important idea, to keep in mind, is to always use proper grammar and mechanics. Never write a paper using first person. This means do not use the words “I” or “me”. You should also try to avoid writing in second person, using words like “you” and others relating to it. Descriptive words are very useful in writing a paper that people can understand. Sentence structure is also a key point. Sentences should always be full, not fragments, and the structure, type, and length, should be varied to increase interest. As you write your paper, remember to stick to the one topic your paper is about, and keep one idea per paragraph. Make sure that the progression of your information follows a logical order and is in the same order as they are outlined in the introduction. Remember to exclude information that is irrelevant or unimportant from the rest of your paper. The final step is writing the conclusion paragraph.
