One of the main problems in all the environmental issue is the disposition of wastage. Most of the waste materials that are thrown away by the majority of our household are actually recyclable and the meaning of recyclable item is that can be converted from its current state of waste into a new material or object through a process called recycling. Recycling can protect our environment by not wasting potentially useful materials and reduce the usage of fresh raw materials. This, in turn, can maintain our environment through reduction pollutions, reducing energy wastage as well as lowering greenhouse gas emissions as compared to virgin production. According to a report in Malaysia, only 15% of all national waste collected was recycled (PALANSAMY, 2016). This is a staggering number considering the number of wastes that can still be recycled to protect our environment. There is also an attempt by the government to improve the national recycling rate by imposing fine on people who do not separate solid waste according to types in respective plastic bags. However, the awareness of recycling is still very low in Malaysia despite the national recycling rate is increasing slowly. Thus, to help them realise their behaviour, we are going to develop a system that they can play to teach them the right way of separating wastes for recycling and hopefully influence them to practice the right way of recycling in their real life.
