Within pracitce Effective practitioners have a duty to value each child's indivudial needs and likes.children have to experience something before they get a true understanding of what it is like. Example. For the setting to be effective, practitioners must challenge and support children's philosophies of their doings, practitioners muct get involved in the childs thinking process. The practitioner can then be attentive of what the child shows an interest in andhave knowledge of whast the child understands. This can support the children's thinking and extend their learning.
EYMP 1 Task 2 3.1 As a trainee practitioner i need to show the knowledge and understanding of how partnership with parents is important to the success of each individual child in the setting. Promoting an effective bond between the parents and professionals, this provides a source of strength throughout their time in the setting. Consequently practitioners should be very aware that there leading role is very different in the Childs life, compared to their own parents, carers etc. Practitioners roll is to be able to show a more compassionate bond with the child. Every child is different, so some may need more support than others; this is why observations are important. Positive communication is very important as this can help build a Childs interaction skills, self esteem and confidence. It’s vital you always have eye contact with that child, and allow them to finish what they are saying. In order to boost their self esteem a child should always be praised, this will make them feel more confident and willing to try. Adapting the environment to help children with their speech and language needs can be done by using visual signs that children can understand, for example you could label the home corner, dress up area, book corner and so on.
Practitioners need to praise children and encourage them to succeed in their learning and give them the support they need. Practitioners need to build positive relationship with not only their key children and other children in their setting but also with the children’s parents this gives them a better chance of giving children more support at home. See appendix 1. At the setting parents can get involved and this will benefit planning for the child as parents know their children better than anyone and they will know their likes and dislikes and will be able to help them with their development. See appendix 2 .
Explain why effective communication is important in developing positive relationships with children, young people and adults:- A positive relationship is one which will benefit the child, young person or adult and aid in their ability to gain positively from their environment. If you wish to have positive relationships you must remember you are a role model when working with children, young people and adults. A role model must be mindful, demonstrating daily your own effective communication skills with others. When communicating with others you must be considerate of how and when you approach them, you do not know what may be happening in their personal life. Positive relationships enable information to be communicated far more effectively.
Developing positive relationships with colleagues allows all involved in the child's and young persons learning to work together in sharing information and highlight and resolve any potential issues that may have an impact on their behaviour, emotional or social well being. Similarly, building positive relationships with the child's or young persons parents to carers will allow them to work together with the setting to, again, highlight any concerns they may have such as family issues. The parents to carers must be secure in the knowledge that any such shared information will be treated with
Finding ways to make the material fun, engaging, and easy to comprehend will nurture a love of learning. Treating students with kindness and respect and helping them learn to apply that to others to create a positive and nurturing environment. * Differentiated- Making sure to include visual, audio, and tactile facets to all curriculum so that each individual will have the best chance possible to understand the material not matter their learning style. Working in pairs, small groups and classroom projects where partners and assignments are chosen based on the individual needs of the students. How you approach people and how you respond to them should all come into account. You should always try to make children feel comfortable in your presence and try to put them at ease. To develop a positive relationship with a child can often take some time.
We as Educators are well trained and passionate. We value, respect and appreciate this uniqueness. We feel children have a right to be active participants in their own learning and must be empowered to express their views and ideas. A child's opinion must be valued for its validity to their perspective and their autonomy and initiative needs to be respected. We as Educators will protect and cherish the innocence of children and thus provide a safe and secure environment.
