Everyone's talking about a new age of austerity and productivity. That won't be easy for a country that prefers lazy consumption. America is the world's fattest country, getting fatter every year, according to a report from Trust for America's Health. Even though health professions, the media, and educational campaigns have discussed about benefits of healthier diets and increased physical activity, the percentage of obesity has increased drastically. The foods we are eating every day contribute to our health. Foods provide us with the nutrients we need for healthy bodies and the calories we need for energy. If we eat too much, however, the extra food turns to fat and is stored in our bodies. If we overeat regularly, we gain weight, and if we continue to gain weight, we may become obese. Many people believe buying fast food when you are busy helps you out. I believe in the long run that eating fast food causes obesity and that scheduling and making time to make healthier foods is a better choice. If you are in a hurry and it isn’t possible to make something health you should stop at a place that sells healthier choices. McDonalds is the choice for many people on the go, but you can go to Panera Bread or Chipotle and get better tasting and healthier choices. Another reason for obesity is that Americans don’t receive the amount of physical activity or exercise their bodies need. People are busy with work, families, and other activities, but, they don’t try to leave or save time for exercise. Adults are supposed to get one hour of physical activity each day. I think that a hour of exercise isn’t anything to complain about, and can be done while you are doing another daily task. Adults want to believe that eating healthy and proportionally are all you need to get in shape, however exercise is just as important and is need as
