I also learnt the different types of notes, scales, rhythms, tempos, the history of music, the composition of good music, and many more new things which not only made me develop my skills in my instrument but also gave me a thorough review of orchestration music as a whole. Now as a keyboard player, if someone else is playing along with me with his instrument
As we saw in the video “Guns, Germs and Steel” with Professor Jared Diamond, we saw that the tribe’s lack of intelligence was not the case for developing more as a civilization. For example, we saw how the people of New Guinea lived. They used the resources they had around them in order to make food, clothing and weapons to help grow and succeed as a civilization. Not only this, but by having the children help at a young age made the tribe more successful in the way that everyone played a part in contributing to make their civilization stronger as a unit. Another reason that the civilizations might have not been successful could have been the weather and climate that they were to go through.
I particularly liked this act because it created new programs at the tech-prep level aimed at coordinating between secondary and postsecondary activities into a sequence of courses as well as the fact that there was an emphasis placed on transitioning students from school to work. Vocational education is intended to not only help prepare students to be valuable assets in a competitive work environment, but also provide skills for learning, and applying academic knowledge to the workplace. 5. The School-to-Work Opportunities Act (STWOA) of 1994 was designed to provide for the needs for our national skills shortage. States were responsible to report how they were to use the start-up monies to assist youth
Composers throughout the ages have used distinctive voices for a number of things. To raise awareness on a certain issue, to give the audience a sense of belonging and intimacy on some level with the character, the list goes on. Similarly, the composers of the texts ‘The Life and Crimes of Harry Lavender’ and ‘Weapons Training’ shape our perceptions of the world, via the distinctive voices of their characters, to help effectively communicate their own thoughts, beliefs and perhaps even morals. Marele Day, author of "The Life and Crimes of Harry Lavender" shows a prime example of this, by using her characters Claudia Valentine and Harry Lavender as mediums in which to voice her opinions by basing certain traits of their characteristics upon her own beliefs, most notably sexism and the search for truth. This in turn effectively conveys her perceptions to the readers, and allows them to compare and challenge their own perceptions of society and the world.
Everything academic revolves around the year-end state testing to the point that other subjects are usually neglected. Reading, math and writing are the main thrusts of schools, and are obviously important. However, critics state that children are not receiving well-rounded educations because of the emphasis on these subjects
The Cartel The Cartel shows the educational system like we have never seen it before. The Documentary shed the light on what are the problems with the U.S education and also showed what is causing these problems. It shows what happens when our schools are not doing their job. America spends too much money in education; the government gives billion of dollars every year to the public school districts. But even with all that funding they are not seeing very good results.
Decreased social mobility is hard on the lower class because without being able to move forward, they are stuck in a cycle of poverty. Quality public education is their best ticket out of the lower class and rebuilding a middle class. The government has to realize that education is such an important tool and the US has been a leader in this since the 1930s, but they didn't stay leaders because their commitment is waning. Higher education is increasingly more necessary, and the costs and competition for spots in these schools are becoming more difficult for people stuck in a sub-par high school or who simply can't afford
Bearing in mind that this is the 21st century, there is nothing as important as education. The educational requirements in any field of employment require that a person’s level of education be rather high. Therefore, it is important that all the people in my community access high levels of education so that they can be able to cope with the changing world and in turn, cause my community to experience sustainable development. I have observed that youths from minority groups largely drop out of school before graduation and this has led to low graduation rates in our school districts. The low graduation rate is not good for my community because it will lead to increase in the degree of unemployment and this may trigger the rate of crime.
Civil War Music When there is war, heated opinions and emotions are bond come with it. These feelings are conveyed in many different ways. One of the most common most ways historically opinions and emotions have been expressed is through music. Music during the Civil War not only expressed the emotions and events during that time period, but also had a huge impact on today’s music. The songs created during the Civil War inspired generation after generation to create new music styles while still keeping some tradition.
That parents stress to children the importance of education all their school lives, but they continue to give money things that are less important, instead they should put money towards the teachers who wants to help make a difference in every child's life. Barber believes that parents should actually display their actions that they care and value their education. He explains who are to blame for the lack of quality education in America. The generations before the young and the government have a partial blame in why the school system is failing. Barber's argument is more superior, because he takes the sociopolitical context of education in to account, where as Henry does not.
