Decisions are the “valium” of meetings. They offer relief from the tension of what lies ahead, from the uncertainty of the world. They tend to create an illusion of progress. Now we do not have to worry about that issue anymore. Often it takes courage for a group to end a meeting without making a decision.
Gossiping should be avoided since news travel quickly and it can harm your reputation. Another rule to keep in mind is that one should resist the urge to ask his/her cube mate a question over the wall (Smith, page 11, 2006). It may seem very convenient to do that, but as a matter of fact it is impertinent and may be annoying to the people around your cube. It is also best to plan construction projects for after hours (Smith, page 11, 2006). The noise and fuss created when remodeling your cubicle can be very distracting to others.

From the railroads in the past, we have learned that faster transportation is better. Everything we need travels by boat or train or plane because we understand that is one of the most successful forms of transportation.
