Resilience & Spirituality Abstract The correlation between spirituality and resilience especially when concerning military members is very strong and can be tied to the success or failure of the service member when facing a tragedy. It is the building of resilience through spirituality that allows the service member to become stronger and able to face the tough situations when they are encountered, and the relationship with God is the building block that allows this to occur. Introduction The development of spirituality and resilience, especially in service members is an important and pivotal component of experiencing, dealing with and overcoming tragedies that happen in life. These tragedies can include a divorce, loss of loved ones and can also be due to wartime events that have a lasting effect on the life of the service members. Resilience is often times developed through the spirituality of the service member and this assist in not only the recovery process after a tragedy but also in the means of everyday living.
A second component of emotional intelligence is ones capacity to be able to identify, interpret, and understand our emotions. This will help to gain the true meaning behind our feelings which will allow us to resolve the a problem, or if it’s not a problem we will be able to simply understand why we are experiencing the feeling we are going going through. If we are feeling very joyful, it does us well to know why we feel that way. That we can take the needed steps to remain joyful. Likewise if we are sad or depressed, by being able to identify and interpret we can successfully deal with our emotions.
He planned to divorce Mary, but was concerned for her suffering and safety. He also knew women accused of adultery could be killed; he divorced her quietly and didn’t expose her to shame or cruelty. We know Joseph was a man of faith. He was obedient to whatever God asked of him, while uncertain of the outcome. For example, when the angel appeared in Joseph’s dream and told him the truth about the child Mary was carrying, Joseph immediately, without hesitation took Mary as his wife.
RE essay Name: Ellen John How do people remember Jesus through the mass/ communion? ‘In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit’, the Holy Trinity, the people reply, ‘Amen’. This means that they pray in the name of the father which is God, and for his son who is Jesus and also with the Holy Spirit. This is what the people and the priest say at the start of the mass to remember God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This helps people know who are they praying for, if they didn’t know who will they pray to?

Sometimes we need to ‘feel’ our emotions, we need to grieve and naturally be sad when we suffer a great loss, or suffer from trauma. This is this is the body’s natural way of healing and is needed to regain the hope and to live life to its fullest. The body knows how to take care of its self with the least amount of resistance. Anxiety is acceptance of desire and the natural desire of life is to have purpose and direction, with hope to do better and to live life. As so beautifully stated, “there are two wings for life, anxiety and hope, and this is the desire to live
Meursault’s detached personality is first shown when he showed no emotion at his mother’s funeral and how he did not know his mother’s age: “I [Meursault] hadn’t wanted to see mother, hadn’t cried once and I’d left straight after the funeral without paying my respects at her grave.” (86). Meursault does not meet society’s expectation because he was different from the rest of society. He is expected to cry and show his respects but he does the exact opposite. A normal man would be devastated by the loss of his mother and suffer from sadness and despair; however, Meursault does not even care much about the date she passed away. “Mother died today or yesterday maybe, I don’t know.” (3) Another point is that shortly after the funeral, Meursault is reacquainted with a typist who used to work at the office with him.
He does not see his alienation because he is so used to it. Gregors guilt kills him knowing he is now no of use. As the novel progresses, Gregor tries to rebuild himself that he had lost by living for others and ignoring his desires. He cannot, however, escape what he sees as his family duty, and continues to serve his family by doing his best not to trouble them Gregor manages to escape his sense of duty only in the last chapter, when he realizes that his family has been neglecting him. Gregor's search for his identity seems hopeless, but, because he never had an identity to start with.
“..Father’s silence was infinitely more menacing than a flood of threatening speech. That night the old man did not eat,” (pg.260) Pain was obviously felt by the father even though he did not show it because of his pride. The father also experienced pain when his son sent him a letter explaining that his grandchildren want to see him. “That night he hardly slept, from remorse—and a vague fear that he might die without making it up to them.” (pg.262) Besides fear, he also has pain because a thunderstorm is coming in the small village and he starts picturing his grandchildren and he says to himself he
This feeling of fear is similarly felt in “Anthem For Doomed Youth” which is about the differences in how the men are treated when they die for example when they are left to rot in the mud instead of being buried in a church yard. The feeling of fear is shown when Owen says “Their flowers the tenderness of patient minds,” This quote shows the fear of the families back home more than the men (soldiers) fighting and it is an important quote as well as it reminds the reader that war wasn’t all about the men dying on the front line because for each man that died that meant one less son to treasure and love, one less farther to comfort their child, one less brother to stand side by side, A main theme in this poem is to remind people that war effects everyone. The word ‘patient’ also implies how the families are waiting
