Nick Vandemark Mr. Kernaghan AP US History 14 January 2014 Emancipation Proclamation Rebuttal The Emancipation Proclamation was a necessary and long overdue document that didn’t necessarily solve the slavery issue in America, but paved the path to righteousness concerning the ideals of the abolishment of slavery. Although many prerequisites were necessary to allow the Emancipation Proclamation to impact America in the way it did (dispute and conflict between the two races and regions of the country), President Lincoln executed the document well and it had a powerful effect on the country as a whole. As a touchy subject that caused all-out civil war across the country, slavery could not be expected to have been swiftly abolished entirely
