Society and individuals are constantly bombarded with interactive messages from diverse mass media agents. Thus what really is socialization? According to DeFleur and Sandra (p, 209) notes that socialization is defined as an intricate, multidimensional and lasting communicative exchange set amid various society agent and individuals that project to personage’s arrangement for existence in socio-cultural settings. Basically mass media is an agent of socialization and mostly compromises of diverse medium of entertainment such as TV shows, music, movies, internet sites, magazines, video games and many such facets. Mass media is a broad subject which has been associated with both positive and negative influence on individuals and the society at large. Mass media has been the crux of many debate as it continue to proffer diverse form of socialization to the society than any other agent in this discipline (Bogard, 290). Mass media has been associated with the social and cognitive development of both the young and old at heart through various forms of interaction mechanisms. This paper is going to analyze in detail how specific mass media have impacted my socialization and beliefs about society and how it works, or doesn't work. The predominant influence that is aligned with mass media can either take a positive or negative route depending on the individuals and the family morals and values.
