They are as follows: integrity, knowledge, courage, decisiveness, dependability, initiative, tact, justice, enthusiasm, bearing, endurance, unselfishness, loyalty, and judgment. They are all essential for the following reasons: -Integrity: Marines cannot respect a leader who does not follow through with their actions and words. This encompasses a lot of areas such as lying and stealing. -Knowledge: Marines are taught the basics at boot camp, MCT, and MOS school. All other knowledge is expected to be acquired through on-the-job training and experience.
For example, during wartime battles would have not been won. Thus, the chain of command is important from the highest level down to the lowest level. Obeying a Noncommissioned officer is important in my daily duty day as a soldier. In combat related situations orders are carried out without discussion and hesitation. A soldier does not realize why things happen the way they do in the military but they must follow orders from people who out rank them.
Granted, most Marines are unselfishly devoted to their service, but the mere acknowledgement of a Marine’s efforts can pay the institution itself countless dividends. This lets the individual Marine know that they are part of a team; a team they have the choice of reenlisting for every four years. Are commanders ensuring their subordinate leaders are introducing positive reinforcement at a level consummate to positively affect retention? A unit lifeless of
THE ROLE OF THE MARINE NCO: POST CIVIL WAR TO WWI SGT CHRISTOPHER M. A. IVESTER SCRS 2-11 GYSGT BELEC 17 JANUARY 2011 THE ROLE OF THE MARINE NCO: DURING POST CIVIL WAR TO WWI THE NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER CORPS IS OFTEN REFERRED TO AS "THE BACKBONE" OF THE ARMED SERVICES AS THE PRIMARY AND MOST VISIBLE LEADERS FOR MOST MILITARY PERSONNEL. ADDITIONALLY, THEY ARE THE PRIMARY MILITARY LEADERS RESPONSIBLE FOR EXECUTING THE MILITARY ORGANIZATION'S MISSION AND FOR TRAINING MILITARY PERSONNEL SO THEY ARE PREPARED TO EXECUTE THEIR MISSIONS. [i] POST CIVIL WAR TO WORLD WAR I (WWI), THE MARINE NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER (NCO) HAD ROLES IN MANY DIFFERENT CONFLICTS WHERE THEY RECEIVED THE MEDAL OF HONOR, SUCH AS THE CUBA CAMPAIGN, THE PHILIPPINE INSURRECTION, AND THE BOXER REBELLION. THE CONFLICTS STATED ARE JUST A FEW THAT MARINES PLAYED A ROLE IN DURING THE POST CIVIL WAR TO WWI ERA. THE CUBAN REPUBLIC WAS ESTABLISHED AFTER THE 1898 SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR.
Many people in my family have served in the Armed Forces, and when I brought this case up to them, they immediately assumed I would be on the dissenting side. They felt that the flag should be highly esteemed and cherished because of all of the men, and women, who have served and died under the flag for the good and protection of the United States, regardless of the country’s problematic history. The Armed Forces fight to allow the country to become a better place, not to explicitly carry out the country’s political agenda. My grandfather, who served in the Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, agreed that people had the right to hold their own personal beliefs about the flag. However, he believes that this case is not simply about citizens disrespecting the flag, but that the case is about citizens disrespecting servicemen and servicewomen in the armed forces who place extreme value in the flag.
(MCM), and for the Navy and the Marine Corps the Manual of Judge Advocate General. All of these documents specifically spell out how a search and seizure may be initiated, how it must be conducted, and what steps must be taken to begin the process. Body First it must be explained that when a person becomes a member of the United States Armed Forces they do not “give up or Lose” their right as citizens as many believe. While there are restrictions they always retain those rights. “The United States Court of Military Appeals has long held that the Bill of Rights applies to members of the Armed Forces except where explicitly and implicitly inapplicable” (Fredric I. Lederer, 1994).
I believe if I put my mind to it I can do anything including these goals of mine that I have for while I am in the Marine Corps. Now with that being said I need to “put my mind to it”. And the always seems to be the hard part in life. I know I can do it, when I have wanted something so bad in the past I would strive to get it and I always did not once did I prevail. I will not fail now, I really would like to make a name up for my self and accomplish these
Since he represents the people, he can instruct or order the military to do various functions. How does this relate to me? Since I am a member of the military, I fit into this great big Chain of Command. The Command in Chief basically relays orders to the next person under him and eventually, quoting Reagan “trickles down”, to me. When I get the order, I pass it down and the process goes on and on.
Why it is a No-Go to Disrespect an NCO There are many reasons why disrespecting an NCO is a terrible idea. Throughout history the United States Military, in there inumerous engagements has depended on their senior soldiers for just about everything. From unit solidarity to making the right decisions under fire, senior enlisted and commisoned officers alike are looked at as the glue that holds the Army together. They are the shot-callers, the decision-makers, and the core of the Army that make up the big picture. Without them the Army would be an unorganized insurgency left to its own devices and anarchy would be the norm, much like in Iraq and Afganistan.
THESIS Disrespecting a Non-Commissioned Officer is a touchy and /or sensitive subject. What may appear to one person as disrespect may not appear to another person as being so. Disrespecting a Non-Commissioned Officer Opening paragraph here In the NCO Creed it says “I know my soldiers and will always place their needs above my own”. I bring this up for the fact that Non Commissioned Officers should know about their soldiers and understand that soldier’s reactions may not always seem as they appear. A soldier’s suggestion may be because it is the best for them.
