Introductory paragraph: In Canada, more and more people complain about health care service. After booking an appointment to see a family doctor, the waiting list may be one month or even longer. In the hospital emergency ward, patients who are suffering life-threatening conditions have to wait in line. Moreover, some doctors and hospital workers do not act responsibly and display bad attitudes toward patients. The government continues to invest more and more money in public health care services because the medical organizations complain that they are short of doctors, short of medical equipment and short of money. Actually, the key problem does not come from lack of money; in fact, it comes from health care policy. Therefore, the government should not provide public health care because of the increased tax burden, poor services, and lack of competition. Body paragraph 1 First, the government should not provide public health care because of the increased tax burden. The government tax resource is not an endless supply chain from which can be taken as much as is needed. Tax payers care about how much tax they have paid and how it is used by the government. Although the cost of government-financed public health care increases continually, the public health care services continue to become worse, and both the government tax management and the tax payer’s burden are becoming heavier day after day. Complaints from the tax payers are becoming louder. They ask why the government tax rate is so high. Why do the tax payers have no choice but to accept the “free” public health care? How can the tax payers make sure that the health care service which they have obtained is worth the tax they have paid? They can choose to buy a cup of coffee, but they cannot choose to pay for health care services when they need them because they paid for them through taxes ahead of time. The
