People on welfare make more money on welfare than off of it. Some people look at Welfare as an easy way out because if the government will pay for everything they need, why should they be successful? Why should they try to make something of themselves? The government has made some changes in the Welfare system. A huge difference between welfare then and welfare now is that they do not give out food stamp coupons anymore; they now have a debit card just like any person would.
Illegal Immigration and their Impact on the United States Have you ever wondered why our cities are becoming smaller and smaller by the minute? No, they are not sinking into the ground, and no they are certainly not being shrunk by alien rays from flying objects. Only one other possible explanation can be drawn, illegal immigrants. They come to the United States in , as they say, hopes for a better future for their families. They take all of our and jobs and money and send it back to their families in their country of origin.
Government played a minor role and cities did not offer public relief. Thinkers believed poor people should work hard to improve their own personal economy and not get government or anyone’s help. This would make America stronger. Freedom was defined as no government interference in the business of business. The economy would be ruled by natural laws of “survival of the fittest” and “supply and demand.” These ideas favored captains of industries like Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller.
Another reason people like to defend Wal-Mart is because they have better prices than most everyone else which is easier on peoples wallets. Wal-Mart has become such a household name that most people will shop there without checking out other business when they realistically could be spending a little extra pocket change and helping their economy and help control this giant corporation. The savings people get are on account of cheap foreign goods that aren’t as good as American goods and people don’t realize it because they just remember the good deals. I would support the Dream Act, At least it gives the minors a chance to make it right and follow the law and get on the right path of following legalization here in the U.S. If we don’t give them a path to citizenship we will be dealing with a bigger issue of employers still hiring illegal immigrants and we will have more immigrants not paying taxes and will exploit the system. They come to the U.S. for a better life than their country could provide. So why are we making it impossible for their children to go in
14). The initial reaction to this would be to say that gangs are awful and have no place in society and we should do away with them. This is probably true to an extent but what about the idea behind gangs. It gives youth a sense of purpose in a world that makes them feel like they don’t belong. Of course there could be more structure which would cause gangs to be less damaging to our culture but the original idea behind it is a good one.
His own experience was enlightening to him; he found a more enlightened sense of his town. In the real world that is past his time there is still civil disobedience, in the civil rights movement people broke the law by protesting against the government. They were protesting for there rights and were thrown in jail for it exactly like Thoreau. I disagree with some of what he says like the people will one day be prepared to have no government in their lives, but I don’t think he is an anarchist; I think that he is an idealistic person. His ideas one day may happen that there will be a more people oriented government.
The government contains officials that are only ordinary people like us. Unsatisfying but true, ordinary people are imperfect, and these imperfect people make important laws. At times, laws being broken can result in positive effects for both our society and our lives. There were a few moments in history when the law was broken and it was considered justified, but not in the times it was done, and not by all people. Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr broke the law and changed the world for the better.
To me it should keep a court system and provide national military and local police forces, but no more. It should not play the role of distributing wealth or dictating the private decisions of its citizens. If the powers of government were truly followed by the constitution we would all be better off. I am going to incorporate more thinking about what I do and about the laws I must follow after reading this. I want to be successful and life and I do not want the government holding me back from living my life the way it is supposed to be lived.

The reason here is that you want EVERYONE in the country to respect the law - and you don't want a large population in fear of even minor violations. But alas such a reform is far far too radical in today's political climate.
