The functions of Compulsory education system in America The real truth and the purpose behind the compulsory education system in America and through out the world is far from what is commonly believed. The importance of education is universally recognized as its ability to empower individuals. We are constantly reminded by society on how we can better our self’s through education. In its true essences education is about obtaining knowledge and ignite critical thinking, which is the fundamental of what education is intended to do. However, many people question the method and the functions that are used through out our education system. Public schools across in America are jam packed with kids who are nearly treated like prisoners in reformatory. With its strict rules, regulatory hours and mandatory tests, it is no wonder every kid dreads going to school every morning. Why is the compulsory education system in America set up the way they are and how come so many concerned parents and educators question it’s true purpose? Well to answer these questions we have to take a closer examination of the whole concepts behind compulsory education system in America. Kids today need to understand how the compulsory education system was set up and its sole purpose behind it, from the very beginning of its establishment; thenceforth, perhaps the truth will help enlighten our kids even more and also guide them to furthermore challenge its domain. Many parents and educators debate over on how much can a young mind flourish when a kid’s education is forced upon on them.
