The commonly called “social-condenser” buildings were originated in 1925 in the apogee of the Russian constructivism as a way of social control and behaviour transformer, it was indubitable a product of the socialist state, the manifestation of an Ideology transformed into an architecture type with functionalism as its main back up. The model was deeply admired by Le Corbusier, who applied its basics to his philosophy and projects, such as Unite d’habitation, and spread the model specially through the CIAM, which since the early 30’s aimed for residential skyscrapers with minimum housing units and mixed introvert functions that enable the auto-sufficiency of the building itself with minimum or non-existing connections to the external urban fabric, which implies the creation of buildings non capable of co-exist with the urban context and moreover create architectural ghettos.
