According to Lyubov her social life changed tremendously after moving to America. She felt like a alien, walking through the streets of America. She didn’t know anybody. She had a lot of trouble making new friends at first. The main reason for that was the language barrier.
Back to when I came to US, I had the same feeling with his cousin. I saw amazing skyscraper buildings that I could never know how they built them, luxury cars that I never ever imagine I can see the real ones, and crowded street yet so lively full with people. But what amazed me more were enormous stacks of phone books in front of Ranch 99 market, a giant trash bin full with vegetables, and pile of food at back of restaurants. At that time, I felt angry with those people who threw away all that things. “Why did they do that?” was the question that I kept asking to my families who had stayed here for a long time.
I was warned not to talk to too many people because there are many thieves and killers. I have heard many stories of people leaving for the Silk Road and never coming back Day 93 I took a lot longer than I had planned to get through the mountains. Food was scarce and I only met one person in the last 63 days. He was an interesting man we talked about our lives I told him about home and he told me about masulipatam, the city he was from and about his family. As the night went on we talked about more philosophical things such as our faith.
I was afraid of heights, so at one time I told my parents that I was too scare to do it, but I had no choice because the tickets was already bought. On the day of the flight my family woke up at 6:00am and we were out the door at 7:00am. We have already packed 3 days ahead of times so that I knew I wasn’t missing anything as we head to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, located seven kilometers (4.3 miles) to the center of Ho Chi Minh City, and is the largest airport in the country. The ride that I had to get there has to be the longest ride I have been on. When I was on the car ride to the Airport it felt like time had slowed down and it was torturing me for how long it took to get there.
Yusheng zhou English Composition Peter J. Pellegrin Ph.d. Fly to the other side of the ocean I believe the hardest decision I made was the one in within I decided to come to America. Four years ago, when I was still in high school in China, my parents asked me “Do you decide to go to another place, maybe try a different study environment.” The overseas study program was prevalent at that time, and that is the main reason I came to the US. The second reason I came, is because I hated the annoying Chinese education system. Most people wonder why I choice Kansas, not New York or Chicago.
Immigration It's no doubt that immigration is a widely spread controversial issue. It has been something Americans have gone back and forth with for decades. We can never seem to make up our mind about the whole thing. Some people welcome the idea of immigrants striving for a better life here in the U.S while others despise everything about it. There are so many issues involving immigration that it's hard to formulate a solid opinion on it.
In 1815, transportation methods in America were not developed at all. Our country was very depended on foreign trade for goods and America was not able to transport many goods far from where it was grown. Even being able to ship goods, it would take the boatmen an extremely long time to navigate through the dangerous rivers. Over the next couple years, transportation really took off as roads, canals, steamboats, and railroads were being made. Improvements did not start to happen until the 1816s, when the National Road was under construction again.
Elizabeth Navarro Composition 1 November 13, 2013 The “Natural” States California and Arkansas are two uniquely beautiful states that share more differences than similarities at first sight. I lived in Los Angeles, California until the age of ten and moved to Russellville, Arkansas. The scenery was a complete shock I had never experienced such a place such as Russellville. All my life I was accustomed to the life of a larger city, and now here I was in a little town in the middle of nowhere. Arkansas is known for being the “natural” state, but I believe California has much more than it’s beautiful scenery.
Abu Rokon WRTG 393 Instruction Manual Topic Paper 9 November, 2014 10 years ago when I first arrived in the United States as an immigrant, I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of adjustments I had to make to fit into the society. I landed in a culture that was alien to me in every way possible – the language, food, people, weather and even the units of measurement, it all seemed completely opposite of what I’m used to. I come from the Asia Subcontinent and no matter where one went within those seven countries it was almost the same food, culture, weather, with very few exceptions. After my arrival, I spent months trying to learn the culture of my newly adopted home and struggling to blend into the society. It was a difficult task
There are always great challenges to face for immigrants. Once I first came to the United States of America, I experienced
