The End of Men One might say that ever since the human kind started to wander on earth, the male gender has been superior to the female gender. However, according to the article “ The End of Men” by Hanna Rosin, posted in the magazine “The Atlantic”, women are now beginning to be superior to men. Hanna Rosin’s target group in this article is women of all ages. Though, it seems as if she is especially trying to get the younger women’s attention with this article, as she is referring to the movie “ Up in the Air” and Lady Gaga’s video “Telephone”. The sentences are neither too long nor too short and her language is easy to understand, but still written in a professional tone. If her target group was only young women, she might have chosen a language with more slang and shorter sentences. The tone of the article is on the other hand very clear already in the title; “The end of men”. The first thing that catches your eye in “The End of Men” is the illustration of powerful career women looking happy and colourful. The ceiling behind the women is green, which is the colour of hope. As you begin the read the article, it is clear that Hanna Rosin have used pathos to get the readers attention on the subject, which can be seen by the fallowing quote:” For years, women’s progress has been cast as a struggle for equality” The reason Hanna Rosin has chosen to use pathos, could be to get the reader’s attention by speaking to the reader’s emotions, as she is talking about women’s long struggle for equality. Then, when she has the reader’s attention, she uses logos as she interviews a biologist Ronald Ericsson, who in the 1970’s figured out a way to separate the male producing y chromosome from the chromosomes carrying the x. To his big surprise, people now prefer to have girls over boys and even Ronald Ericsson himself has changed his opinion:” Women live longer than
