The venue, decorations, food, and presents for the Christmas party costs $3,500. Another $500 for going away gifts, $500 for supplies, and $500 for rollover is also needed. The budget is short, and the upcoming Holiday Bazaar is your last opportunity to make money this year. Shifting your efforts from many smaller fundraisers to the three big events will provide the funds without the negative impact to your volunteers. A New Solution According to independent research, the most successful fundraising item is funnel cakes.
Response to Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants After reading this essay, I agree with Mr. Prensky that America’s youth is constantly leaning towards the uniformity of digital technology in society today. Each generation is becoming more dependent on technology than the last, consequently forcing them to subconsciously lose their ability to obtain information through books and other tangible resources. As human beings, when one of our five senses are weakened or lost, the remaining gets stronger. Therefore, in the same concept, when one sense is heightened another is weakened. This technological generation lacks what the “obsolete” society calls, sociably acceptable standards: Sociable standards such as finding information and research through
Metro PCS’ poor brand identification is largely due to their marketing focus on a very narrow demographic. In 2012, Metro PCS released plans to broaden their marketing focus outside of their norm of young urbanites to families, expanding their family plans, which is a good start to gain more brand identification. However, their ads have been touted as “ethnic stereotypes…that perpetuate negative images of any community of people” (adage.com). Although the additional marketing has perhaps turned a few new heads in their direction, but the classless marketing style has just perpetuated their most profound dilemma: brand image. A partnership with Rhapsody has given appeal with a wide variety of tunes available for popular
I don’t think the people should be able to get off that easy simply because of a legal mishap and in fact disgusts me that his has happens numerous times every year. If we could change this I believe it would have an extremely positive impact on our society and make it even more difficult for criminals to get off unpunished. References Tankebe, J. (2009). Policing, procedural fairness and public behavior: a review and critique.
The information on our countries economy and government are accurate and insightful. We as a country are continuing to prosper and other countries are still struggling after the recession our government works hard to ensure we are not having our taxes raised and that they are using sound judgment in their policies. 3. The author’s opinion on this topic is that our government is on the right track and that we as citizens should stop our complaining as we have it pretty good, we could be worse off like the Americans. 4.
Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. This whole project of Prohibition was all a big fail. Today as a whole I don’t know why we would even attempt it like some places have. It needs to be a learning experience for our government today not to do what it did back then and spend tons of money on laws that are going to fail and cause more debt. In all the Prohibition Era was a down for America even though it might not say so, but it was a true down grade instead of a booming
Some federal programs have become so complicated and wasteful that perhaps the states should just let them die. Isabel Sawhill asserted that the two most significant recent changes in U.S. intergovernmental relations have been the enactment of a long-term plan for eventual reduction in federal aid to state and local governments and the substitution of block grants for matching grants. The potentially adverse ramifications of aid reduction have yet to surface because the strong economy has shrunk welfare caseloads and TANF offers states generous short-term increases in assistance relative to what they would receive under the old AFDC program. However, states would probably lower their levels of welfare benefits if the economy fell into recession, the incidence of single-parent families and poverty among children continued to rise, and the long-run caps on
This is bad for competition and the ability to provide quality care. The main problem that a government-run health insurance presents is the possibility of driving people out of their current plans. The effect of this development is particularly true given the fact that a government-run plan is likely to offer reduced prices and, therefore, shift the market demand in its direction. According to the Ray (2008) the public health care plan will offer attractive and generous packages because it will be able to enjoy the sponsorship of the taxpayer. Since many private health insurance companies will not be able to offer such packages, they will be forced out of business.
Without the TANF program to provide help for these families the poverty rate would rise continuously. The welfare programs from analysts believe several factors have contributed to the decline, including an improved economy, tougher work requirements and diversion. Strategists that have moved applicants directly to work programs (Almanac, 20010). However, in my opinion I would say that welfare is not checked often enough and it should be more often. People who are on welfare tend to play the system because they know they can get away with it and take advantage, because the welfare office does not check like they should.
Perhaps more so. As I venture through life, business and politics, what I realize is that our greatest future is somehow connected to the folks who mentor us, who engage us in conversations that are in our enlightened best interest, but the manifestation of which might not occur for decades. I’d like to encourage all mentors to not only be a mentor but to know that the difference they are making may not actually manifest itself for a decade or two. In my life, not only did John Moniz transform my thinking, but he changed my life. Many of the lessons he taught me never manifested themselves until after he sadly passed away.
