Nones 1 Jesus Nones Ron Kelly Academic Studies 2 September 12, 2011 The Effect of the Internet on Language I personally believe that the Internet is a main part of our lives and without this; the technology would not advance as fast as it does this days. I think that the Internet is a great innovation that can be used as source of all kind of information. The Internet is present in two principal fields: in society and culture. In society, the Internet is mostly used as a primary means of communication and education; as an example, we have social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and others, these are used by the people to communicate with family, friends and know new people. The internet is very helpful in the educational field, because it allows students to find any information quickly and organized. A cultural way the Internet is used to raise awareness throughout the world cultures of each country and attract tourists. For those reasons I disagree with the statement that the Internet has had negative consequences on language. Teenagers are using the Internet very often. They are using the internet to learn about new people and communicate with them. Most of these people are from other countries, and teenagers feel the need to learn new languages in Nones 2 order to communicate with them. The easiest, fastest and most economical way is to use the Internet to learn. The Internet is also a great benefit for the culture of countries, as they may publicize their countries in the various ways that exist on the Internet. Each country uses different means available on the Internet to advertise and publicize their culture, websites such as YouTube, Picasa and Yelp, are used to post videos, photos and information to those visitors and tourists who plans to go.
