In the book What Great Teachers Do Differently, Todd Whitaker chronicles things that great teachers do. By adopting many of the practices in the book, a new teacher can be well on their way to becoming a great teacher. High expectations, creating a climate of caring, decision making, and learning to ignore things are just a few of the things that great teachers do. Great teachers have high expectations not just for their students, but also for themselves. The expectations a teacher places on his or herself are directly related to those placed on their students.

Erica Goldson Valedictorian Speech Response Erica Goldson brought up a very controversial and very interesting topic about our current education system in the US. She states that students are so focused at memorizing data and getting good grades, that they miss out on the whole idea of learning and being educated. I agree with her, students should be learning and absorbing the material, instead of memorizing for the next big test and just forgetting about it later on. Graduating seems like the top priority in students nowadays, and to me that is just upsetting. And the students who are very talented and are very motivated to learn and be driven in a non-academic subject seem to have a more negative image than the people who are driven by academics.
Dr. Naeger would have been the type of person to truly care about his students and help them however he could. He would have made his students feel successful, smart, and valued. He may have even been a father type figure to some. The woman bringing the flower to place in his lapel is a testament to the love that people still feel for this not to be forgotten mentor. Dr. Naeger is proof that you don’t have to be perfect to be remembered and honored.
Being a teacher carries a lot of respect, responsibility, and perks. Teaching is a challenging line of work with many unique obstacles, but teaching also offers a numerous amount of rewards. Teachers get to enjoy the impact they have on their students' lives by watching them gain more impact and become interested in the subject as they learn more about it. If you plan on becoming a teacher you should not make the mistake of thinking that because you went to school yourself you know
Although the administrators are the ones holding the titles of directors, they acknowledge that they may not necessarily be the all knowledgeable ones, they are always willing and open to try and hear new ideas presented to them by the teachers, and they do not require the teachers to run new ideas past them first, they trust and value their teachers professional judgments, if anything they may ask the teacher to share their idea with the rest of the staff at the next staff meeting. The administrators also understand that the student population continues to grow, and their responsibilities are increasing, and to be successful administrators who are able to support their teachers, they need to be able to release certain leadership roles to the teachers, and that is exactly what happens on the one. School campuses. Teachers as well as administrators, and other staff on campus, and sometimes other stakeholders collaborate to fine tune what it is that is needed to continue to improve student learning, and teaching. Based on the outcomes of these meetings a curriculum team is created and curriculum is written to meet those listed needs.
Fenway High School Essay In my opinion what makes a good school are the students, teachers, and principal. The reason I say those three things is because reason one they all represent the school and they have to work hard to make a school good. I said students because to make a school good the students who attend the school have to have good behavior with good grades, because a school that has good grades get more and more students to apply for it. I said teachers because they are the main ones who give us students our knowledge and education. And with good teachers come good students with good grades.
Freire was sure that by repairing the education system, he was giving the students and teachers the opportunity to introduce an exchange of ideas (Flanagan, 2005). A funding formula is a formula that gives a school the same amount of funds for each pupil. This can affect a working class child’s education because if other schools have a higher fund because they are more popular due to better exam results then working class children are unlikely to be able to get a placement at that school so they will be silt-shifted to a less popular school which has lower exam results because of its lack of funding due to its lack of pupils. However, this idea can be criticised because if an unpopular school gets too bad they will be put into special measures by ofsted, this then gives them more funding to try and help improve the school, if this is achieved then their popularity will improve. Silt-shifting is when a school off-loads pupils with learning difficulties who are expensive to teach and so get poor results. This benefits middle class pupils as all the troublesome students are removed from their school it means the teachers have more time for them to improve their grades thus making the school more popular because of their rank in the league tables then letting them cream-skim thus improving the school further.
Sometimes the purpose of an educator is not evident and that the direction of the education is uknown. However a great teacher is eventually recognised for their teaching talents and gains respect from their students. Paul initially doubted Keller’s teaching abilities, but eventually recognised his talents and found himself relating and learning to the
